I would've probably done the same if I were you. It's not just us that are bad ass up here.

You only placed 65th overall on the PAX at the DC Pro despite winning STX. Give us some specifics rather than BS ego trash talk.

Looking forward to meeting everyone who can make it.

I guess we all sucked then.. maybe "bad ass" just means we suck less than you.

anybody half way talented sucks less than me, but until you run against me you have no idea and even then that doesn't mean I or you were in our best form or didn't have some other issue.

otherwise it only means stop elevating yourself until you run against a wider range of competition. If you are going to make an STR comparison the first place to start is with who is setting the bar that the PAX number is being based on.

the local STX drivers wiped the floor up with me just before the Texas Tour and Pro event, but the opposite occurred at those events. When it comes to local events this is not all that unusual for a wide variety of reasons. But go ahead and paint rosy assumption pictures and pull make believe rabbits out of your butt all day long if it makes you feel good ...

Jeff wasn't talking about local events. He was talking about DC Pro. We have raced against some of the people that you have raced against, but like you said everyone can have a good or bad day.

You really shouldn't be so hard yourself, I think you've managed some good finishes over the years. Quite a few of them, events in which we've both competed at.

Screw PAX, set the bar with raw time. It's more fun.

We all have our own ways of making ourselves feel good... I'll leave the rabbits up to you...

you forgot about painting rosy palm assumption pictures, by the numbers no less. I looked at the STR list for DC and I completed my 7th/8th National events this past weekend. If you are referring to that one event then I really don't see what there is to crow about relative to STR. I mean, congrats on the win and all; you were the man who came out on top in STX, but change the STX-STR pax relationship as a result ....? :hahano:

at best I am hit & miss; more cone hits than misses, if I didn't have a good car propping me up I wouldn't be worth squat

Sell the RX8 yet?

.

Changing Pax was just a joke :) I now Rick looks at a bunch of results.

I didn't sell the car yet, I am in no rush. I have fun running it.

TeamRX8 06-14-2012 10:23 PM

So was my bad @ss comment/reason. I am exhausted and the car needs yet another spring rate adjustment to tame it down. I have cancelled all my Tour entries. The Farmington and Toledo Pro events being back-back weekends will be enough long distance driving before Nats.

Zelse 06-15-2012 06:38 AM

Just saw this thread, looking forward to seeing you guys run in STX! :) We're actually running in the same heat too.

Chris, would be good to finally see you again after how long? Two years? lol.

JeffH 06-15-2012 07:40 AM

Still have to finish up a few things on the car. The weather looks great for the weekend. Hoping it stays that way. Looking forward to some fun fast courses.

GREAT Runs to Jeff and Eric! You guys are on fire this weekend! :)

Eric, I think if you drove my car you'd keep it and make it for SP. ;)

My co-driver got down to a '62.8 which would've had the class by 6 tenths!
I got down to a '63.5 but coned that away, so I'm standing in second right now with a '64.

Good times either way everyone! Was great meeting you all. Can't wait for tomorrow's course!

TopGear8 06-16-2012 09:29 PM

Good job to Jeff and Eric today. Looks like its going to be a close battle today.

And Marc, go out there tomorrow and drive it to win. You never know what can happen. Looks like the time is there for the car, just go out and drive it!

Good luck to all tomorrow.

TeamRX8 06-16-2012 10:27 PM

Good luck tomorrow, hopefully BSP can get up to DSP standards ....

Zelse 06-17-2012 04:54 AM

Isn't it technically down to DSP standards? ;)

And after watching the videos today, for sure. John and I both left time on the table in different spots. Either way, I need to stop dinking around and drive. If my co-driver can break '62, so can't I! :)

TeamRX8 06-17-2012 06:01 AM

Doing it dirty and doing it clean are two different stories. If anybody knows this it's me. As for DSP, the bar is clearly higher there than you have given credit for.

TeamRX8 06-17-2012 03:24 PM

Congrats to Jeff Anderson for putting the smack down today and taking the STX win in BRODA's RX8

Zelse 06-17-2012 06:32 PM

Definitely congrats to Jeff for putting on some crazy times. Congrats to Eric Simmons and Jeff H for being damn fast too, you guys were great out there! It was a pleasure meeting you all too.

Chris, always a pleasure to see you again my friend!

As for John and I, I'm impressed with the times we put down... Given the fact that the R compounds are completely done. As in, yesterday and today, the tires were rocks and not even slightly soft after running. But hey, excuses aside, I gave it my all, and my co-driver did great as well, so that's all I'm really happy with. :)

TeamRX8 06-17-2012 08:36 PM

It must be reassuring to receive atta-boy kudos from one of the people most vocal about keeping the RX8 out of DSP. Maybe with some fresh tires you can keep pace with a BS class S2000

Thanks Team. Jeff drove the wheels off the car on Sunday.

Congrats to Eric S and Jeff H for the other two podium spots. Great driving all around. :beer05:

gatorbait 06-18-2012 07:44 AM

Thanks to BRODA racing for letting me drive with him and helping setup the car this year. It was good both days, but I couldn't find the course on Saturday. Dave is a great co-driver and stay patient with me even though I keep breaking things on his car. Sorry about the door card I destroyed with my knee cap Dave:nono:

Jeff and Eric it was fun getting another crack at you guys following the smack down in DC. Hopefully I'll see you out on the neutral grounds of Lincoln in a few months. My first instructor from the early days of Autox down in Florida, Neal Tovsen, is running a BMW in STX. It would be fun to see him again.

Congrats to Zelse and John for a strong showing as well. RX8's were representing all over the place, as were Mazda's in general.

Nice driving Jeff, it was fun running against all you guys again. We have to make you a member of Team "Bad Ass"

Smack down... beat down.. @sskicking or all of the above. Glad Jeff held the torch high for STX and put the times down he did. I never would've thought a course that looked so simple could be such a challenge to drive fast. Think I had most of it figured out by the 3rd run but just didn't execute. I could see Jeff tearing down the runway and knew he was driving at another level. Also, props to Nate for the course design.

Simmons-Racing 06-18-2012 09:01 PM

My not so good Sunday run

My Saturday run

Simmons

Litreocola 06-18-2012 10:10 PM

both of those courses look like they were a hell of a lot of fun. i really need to drag my ass out to an scca event.

gatorbait 06-19-2012 09:01 AM

Eric, thanks for posting video. I will try and overlay our fast runs and compare. You had better lines then me through the offsets and a few other places. According to the data BRODA was faster than me down the back runway.

Thx again for the competition guys. I'm am now officially in love with how RX8's handle. There is a buyer for the WRX Eric, we will see what happens

-Jeff

Simmons-Racing 06-19-2012 11:18 AM

I wil have to post mine up with the MPH. I had more speed in some spots, and you had more in other spots. The car looked very planted, I should have made a change to tighten mine up it was too loose on exit.

Did you see Toledo opened up the wait list?

Simmons

Simmons-Racing 06-19-2012 11:20 AM

It would be cool if you overlay saturdays run also.

Here is mine from just one side.

gatorbait 06-19-2012 11:45 AM

Will do Eric. I haven't even looked at Saturday yet!

I've given up on Toledo, need to save pennies for the trip further west! If we can go I'll keep my fingers crossed for a spot at the finale with only one event, even though I know its next to impossible.

Jeff

gatorbait 06-19-2012 08:04 PM

Anderson vs Simmons. Sunday best runs. Get data on yours Eric and I will update. Sorry for the widescreen nature, I'm not sure how best to render these.
