How many intend to autocross their RX8?
I count eccles, rotarydude and myself as the only ones I know about. A show of hands please?
Since the car is so new I figure we should pool all the info we learn in order to (forgive the pun) get up to speed as quickly as possible. ________ EXPERT INSURANCE |
tpryor will be 'crossing his, too.

If I end up buying one, it will be autocrossed.

I will be autocrossing mine a little, first event for it is Sunday. I probably won't spring for race tires, at least not this year. I used to solo a 3rd gen RX-7 in ASP pretty seriously, but am more focused on road racing (EP 1st gen RX-7) lately.
The only "mod" I'm going to do is add a little negative camber in front. It will definitely need shocks, but I'd wait till next season on that, there aren't enough options available yet. Steven |

I've tried it, but unless the S2000 goes to A-Stock, I'm racing the S2000 instead.

I'll be running in the Buccaneer Region...as soon as the damn thing gets here!

Originally posted by tpryor Penske has fully adjustable, customer rebuildable shocks that fit the RX-8 today. If needed, I would just want to come up with the initial damping specs. Are coil overs legal for BSP? The rulebook says springs must use original attachment points which would imply no, but I wanted to make sure. And if coil overs are okay for BSP, are the Penske shocks offered as coil over units? ________ Avandia Lawsuit |

Already autocrossed.

First Event this Sunday in Nashville. I'm planning to spend Saturday with a pyrometer and camber gage so I should have some rough settings for street tires early next week. I'm going to start 1.8 front/1.5 rear with 1/8" toe in the rear and go from there.
With the factory alignment it pushes under power and tucks in dramatically off the gas. I'm going to try to smooth that out with more front camber and rear toe. From what I've read, the eight has similar, but improved, suspension geometry to the FD RX-7. so I'm using that as a starting point. |
