Crash at RX-8 party race Japan
I saw it recently
Ouch Video here I had enough with certain high moral people! (right click and save as...) <---- PM me if you want the link Generally this is why most sprint days are not grid starters.... there is so much can go wrong in the first lap with cold tyre and cold brakes :nono:  in this year's Australian RX-8 Nationals. :mdrmed: :Freak_ani  |
OUCH! It looks like the guy in the white car misjudged his speed, or maybe you're right about the cold brakes. Sad to see that happen to an RX-8.

DEEEYAM! that sux!
|
I wonder why the video was so focused on the Blue MS 8. Anyone have the rest of this clip?
-hS |
The blue 8 is a coverage by Hittori on the Japanese RX-8 Party Race. It was the 3rd round at Tsukuba last year.
Hittori was not classified but he came in 1st at shoot out but put on the back of the grid for the main race just not to interfere too much of the front. The white car is driven by a director of some motor media company and he bloody crashes.... very ameature on the first lap :p |
Oh BTW the full clip is in the Best Motoring Japan 01/06....
*cough *cough mininova.org is your friend *cough *cough. |

Looks exactly like the white car was offline and tried getting the inside... when there wasn't one to be had.
But seeing all them 8s on the track like that... nice. :) |
I am taking the link off... since there is too much pride in some community out there!
Yes the white car just misjudge speed and brake tooo late. When it brake - it just understeer into the red one. Bad driving. They are not professional you know. Just showing you so you are aware when you track... |
Isn't dive-bombing an amateur mistake?

Driving on the inside is a good professional move but I ain't seeing that in the first lap even in the top professional level. There are plenty of places to pass in Tsukuba, and I am sure some GT4 expert can speak more so... |
I was under the impression that the Tsukuba is not a track that favors overtaking?

Yes and no. If you comes out the main straight right, you can dive in easy; some as after the last hairpin and pass. That is only when you have a higher powered car, within 5kW it is kind of hard. But in non-professional racing; these are the 2 spots. But you are very game, after the 1st hairpin, you can dive in the inside before 2nd hairpin left. ;) X over move after the 2nd hairpin (@Dunlop sign) is very common too. |
I think we both watch too much BMI...
|
You are not wrong there....
I think Hittori is way cool and Kurosawa.... the older son of Gan san is not driving very well - always understeer the car, I think he not presenting this year. Tsuchiya is back for 4 months this year ... in fact since last year. I like Tsuchiya's style - he is funny, although I cannot understand their slang as I used to. |
Hattori is one of my favourites. Takuya is a bit like you said not driving well but I think he's being too careful trying not to destroy the cars, too bad he's reviewing the 8 all the time. If his dad reviews the 8, who knows it might have won more races... haha. Tsuchiya is the reason I started watchin BMI, the guy is seriously funny when he bash cars like altezza, etc.
