Competition shifter
 

Since alot of racers with S! trans used our Axialflow Shifter kit I thought I might offer racing version of the new S2 kit. While the standard kit will be a big improvment over stock I would consider a small run with bronze bushings if there was a demand. That would eliminate all reliability problems with plastic parts.
I can't make just one or two of these but I'll gamble on a few if I can see 10 orders. Give me your thoughts. PM or Email me.

I can also eliminate reverse if required or desired.

I would recommend stainless steel over bronze. Bronze will wear and get sloppy faster. There is sufficient lubing in this area to not need a soft metal bushing.

im in the market for a SS real soon a few months or so, and i would def be interested in a more rugged "race" version as i plan to track as much as i can, what are we looking for roughly on prices

Well the shifter is made already from ss and chrome moly so that would wind up being the same. We selected those two because they will slide together without transfer. There is no reason not to use SS except that the bronze is more lubrisous (that is a word just probably not spelled that way). Aluminum Silicon Bronze would be the mat of choice I think. But that stuff isn't kicking around anywhere on the cheap. I'll just have to see if there is interest first. Your opinion is noted.

It's not an opinion. It's the material Speedsource uses and is a proven quantity. There is no 'transfer' because there is sufficient lubrication in that area if the trans is filled fully with the proper fluid. The transmission is weak in general and a sloppy/worn bushing will only hasten it's demise.

I would love an S1 bushing made out of something other than the plastic one that seems to hate me ;)

OK, next time I run some I'll make a few SS ones. I have to experiment with the ID as SS will not offer much give to go around the ball. I think I can get it to go some so it doesn't just fall off.

Theirs is fairly thin too. It is designed for the OE shifter. It has a lip on the inner ID at the bottom that prevents if from working with your SS shifter, which it hits the lip when trying to push down in the reverse gate mode. A deeper version of the same thing would probably work, but this is all from memory from quite a few years ago when I tried to put the two together ...

Yes, you cannot use a stock lower bushing with our shifter. Our id radius is cut lower in order to help with room for fulcrom point change. 'Nough said about that.
I will have to make them for both.
