Best Launch RPM's

Just playing with the 8 today and noticed I seemed to get the best push to 60mph with a 7500rpm launch........no wheel hop and a good pull. I know a few on here have chatted about getting good results at lower rpm's, but to be honest haven't tried really launching it like that until today....went down a back road and gave it a shot......not a high speed run.....but just to see the quickest time to 60mph or so......

On a side note, some clown in his civic tried to race me today...I let him go and just laughed.....but he had it all modded up and just flew from a dead stop....surprisingly fast

Do you like your clutch?

while i cant speak from expereince because i dont have an rx8, a 7500 rpm launch is not good to do on a regular basis.

this is also in the wrong section.

I think that is what MT did on their tests to get the best times (7500 RPM) launch.

is this a drop clutch? or a feather launch?

But MT does not have to keep their car for 60,000+ miles. Lauching your car at 7500 rpm's will yeild you the best 0-60 time, but becarful, the clutch is not going to show you to much love in the long run.

Ok. so you have to put a clutch in it every so often or replace a half shaft or two, maybe a shattered differential eventually.

This is the racing and competition area, if you're in a competitive situation you do what you must to win. You would probably even carry those spares and tools with you, just like the Honda S2000 guys have learned to do.

So true to the fullist! If you are going to race you want the best launch you can get.
