Basic Corner Weight / Tire Pressure Ratio
Hey 8Club!
Been meaning to make this post for awhile as I don't think this information is openly shared. Taken from anonymous GRM member some years ago, has worked well for me. First, find your 'maximum load pressure' rating (ie: 1,477 @ 50psi), then use your 'corner weight value' (ie: 800lbs) and divide by max load pressure. Now take your remainder and the last step is to multiply by max psi. 800 (CWV)/ 1477 (MLP) = .541 .541x50 = 27.08 'Optimal' pressure for that specific corner weight and tire rating is 27.08 lbs. And there you have it! This should at the very minimum provide a basic starting point for new enthusiasts working to set tires pressures for their track vehicle. Enjoy! :) |
I like it. That’s right about where mine likes it.
