Azenis Rotation
 

I have the Falken Azenis 615 , I used them for 1 track day and two races. Any recommendation on the tire rotation, should I cross them or front to back- back to front. We race counterclockwise and have 12 turns.

They are directional.....so you have to stay on the same side unless you demount and flip them for the other side....so front to back...is the way to go!

Some track buddies I go to use the Bridgestone RE55S otherway around !

He is still doing the same lap time.

I will race again in June 25. Just to let you know my best time with the orginals wheels and Dunlop was 1: 40 with the Azenis and Enkei RP-02 I did 1: 37:2 last weekeend. Next time I want to touch 1:36.( I order the RP hi-flow cat and I should recieve it this week)

What do you think of the 615 rotorpr? It is pretty cheap here in Australia and I am thinking of giving it a go. You tried or heard of my Bridgestone RE55S???

Well, my car is a different car with the Azenis 615, I only use them for track days and for the solo racing days. I still use my Dunlops for the street. I also got a friend with a modified Mitsubishi EVO (375hp+) with Azenis and he is first in his category. I will recommend them any day.

rotate them off of the car, they overheat too easily ... Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 or Bridegstone RE-01R are a much better choice, faster too ...

Really? hmmm... that's a big change from the Azenis 215s they replaced, then. my 215s were assymetrical, but non-directional. so I could rotate them all around the car, but could *not* demount/flip them. had to keep the 'Outside' side consistent.

I went out and looked at my 615's last night to verify. They are asymmetrical, not directional. BTW, every directional tire I've ever seen had a "<--direction of rotation" sign printed on the sidewall. Azenis 615's have no such sign, but do have "inside" and "outside" on the sidewall.

So sounds like from an orientation standpoint it's unchanged from the 215 Azenis. for motorsports use, I would actually prefer if it *were* a symmetrical tire, all other things being equal. since the outside edges are always the first to wear down from cornering, it would be nice to be able to demount/flip 'em and extend usage. OTOH, maybe the assymetrical design is what makes 'em that good in the first place <shrug>
