And I think my Winning blue sport is faster than your Gray GT. :ylsuper: and I doubt it. You you are a few hundred pounds lighter than me, but then again just to be me .... I doubt it. Does it have LSD? Whats the school cost? |
I think it is like 25 or 30 bucks. lots of seat time.
Yea dude it's a sport. my wife thought I was being cheap and getting a car with NO options. Yet I insisted on 6 speed LSD and spare tire and Potenzas. If I could have done it I would have deleted the radio and other crap. But she insisted because it is really her car. Did you know that my co-driver left from Bourbon just as the sun was coming up? Yea the same guy that took FTD. |

What are you going to do to remove 100 pounds.
I got to warn you if you leave that much standing outside your car again there is a good chance my co-driver will steal it. :pokeowned |
Racing Brake BBK takes out 27lbs out of the front end, 8lbs of those being rotational, 4lbs per corner.
Racing Brake Rear Rotors take off 10 total in the rear, rotational again 5lbs per corner. Battery Relocate will give me a 20lb difference with cables included. We are at 57lbs so far, KW Variant coilovers are 4lbs ligher per corner thats another 16lbs Brings me to 73. Wheels are 3lbs lighter per corner, another 12lbs (note haven't looked up tire weights) thats 85lbs without touching seats, a/c, headers, cat, or exhaust, if i really wanted to be "that guy" i figure i could drop another 45 out of the exhaust system, and be really obnoxious on the street. |
My favorite saying is "What class does that put you in". at the minimum it is Street prepared off the top of my head brakes are not allowed. Have to freshen up on STU rules.
So much for PAX however. I know cuz X prepared has one sucky PAX We pulled it out Sunday but had to beat most everybody by 2 seconds. Wife now wants an Elise. Same shade of blue. I am going to work the Exige angle I like them better. |
STX: Brake rotors may be replaced with any rotor of equal or larger
diameter made from a ferrous or aluminum alloy. Calipers are unrestricted, but must mount to the original attachment points. Drum brakes may be replaced with disk brakes of a diameter equal to or greater than the inside diameter of the standard drum part. Brake backing plates (dust shields) may be modified the minimum amount necessary to accommodate allowed alternate rotors and calipers. Rx-8 is restricted from STX, and must run STU; which follows the same set of rule minus a stipulation on tire size in STX being lifted to 275 for 2WD and 245 for AWD. |
Yea that's why I said STU. But Street Prepared in WAY faster. because of real tires. You know DOT-R.

Absolutley bone stock Sport and it is just fine. So get out there and autocross your 8 people! You bought a sports car. Don't you want to drive it like it's one? |
Results are up: http://www.delta-scca.org/2007/event...esults_pax.htm
Looks like they did put XP in PAX, i've never really liked pax much, but hell joe i did "beat" you. |

What about getting a ride-along with an instructor/experience member? If not all runs are timed, does that happen?
We have a regular event on Sunday, though. You can do the novice walk through with everyone else, listen and ask questions. The driver's meeting before the event is mostly about safety, announcements, pointing out some of the event staff, and such. Everyone gets four timed runs and that's it. (4x260 drivers equals a long day.) Most people are more than happy to give ride alongs...all you need to do is ask. gotta buy a helmet by april 22, thats the next open event. If you want to get in to the next event in April, be sure that you're at your computer and logged in to dlbracing.com right at 8pm the Sunday before the event (April 15, I think). We only have about 25 open slots and they will be filled by 8:05. Best bet is to get all of your info into DLB beforehand so you don't waste time on registration night. |

So 400+ whp in a 914 with lots of chassis stiffening some trick suspension (hint.. double A arms front and back) with some sticky tires would make a hell of a race car... lol What's up Hassan? Cool to see you're on these boards. I own the black RX8 that used to autocross with Monique before Katrina. I haven't been in a long time and I'm itching to get back. Do you still have that sick sr20 240? Hassan could beat most of our autocross times in a Geo Metro :) Have you attempted to crack open & port or tune a Renesis yet? Is your shop still open on the Westbank? |
Hassan whose shop is that on caliborne right by the sharp S turns and the self car wash bay, has loads of FCs/FDs and Miatas in the lot.

Polak, Are you talking about that lot on the right hand side if you're driving from Metarie to uptown? Funny, I saw that lot a few days ago when I decided to go to Crabby Jack's for lunch. I damn near wrecked my 8 when I saw all of those cars, especially the black fd. I've been meaning to stop over there one weekend. I wonder if any are for sale or if its just some crazy guy hording Mazda's. |
Yup

I've been quoted many times. "PAX is for slow kids to feel better about thier slow cars".

I actually got on the wait list for todays novice class, but missed an email one morning last week informing me three spots had opened. By the time I got online they were filled again. So, I've seen how fast you must reg. from now on to get a spot! Did today get postponed due to the rain? I woke up 7, saw it was raining and just went back to bed. First chance I had to sleep in for a couple of weeks, so it wasn't hard to convince myself. I will be up and hopefully getting some runs on 4/22 tho. :ylsuper: |
Rain has ner stopped an Autocross. At least not here in the south, we run till the timers float away. or Lightening get close.
If ya wanna know who the GOOD drivers are the rain will separate them out. Cars HP and tires are no longer a factor. |
My shop used to be on the weskbank. I no longer work on cars... well atleast for a living that is. Oh and that shop on jefferson hwy used to be a Miata shop...

AWD turbo and STS (pax happy) cars make them think they are fast lol
