2011 Dixie NT 3/12 - 3/13
The first SCCA national tour of 2011 is just around the corner.
2011 Tire Rack SCCA Dixie National Tour South Georgia Motorsports Park, Adel, GA 03/12/2011 - 03/13/2011 Event Page Entry List So who'll be making it in 2011? Shawn, Katie and I will be there in the G-stock "Spicy Orange" MSP!!! |
Really, no snow to deal with in March?
|
In South GA? Shoot it's been mid 60's here in Charlotte all week. Average for this week in Dixie is 78 degrees..
|
If you were at the Moultrie, GA Tour in 1996 you would know better than to question whether it could be freezing @ss cold or not, yeah it snowed even :uhh:

If you're open to a co-drive, I know a female RX-8 owner who's looking for a co-drive in STX (open class). She's thinking about converting her 8 from CS trim to STX. She's a solid driver, would be easy on your car, etc. Shoot me a pm if you're interested and I'll put you in touch with her. --Chike |
May require some seat adjustment - she's quite a bit taller than Mike ;-)
I know David is going to be there driving an STR Miata. |
Lol anyone taller than 5'8 won't fit in my car with a helmet on.

Cline won't make the TnT this weekend, but they said they will be at Dixie.

Sucks for BS that they have to run first again...Like always, I know Jay is pissed about that. Sucks that we run 5th...But better than first I guess :dunno:
|
Well, Shawn and I will be running 2nd, working 5th. I guess we won't have an early departure Sunday. And better than running 1st....

Braun over Strano in SS Ruggles won CS in the RX-8 Mike won STX in the RX-8 (Cline BMW was a no-show) Chris Harvey won STR in the NC (29 driver class!!!) |
Great job by Ruggles and Mike for pulling out in wins in their classes. Harvey was flying in STR!
The class I enjoyed watching the most was B-stock. Pfannenschmidt and Toussaint were engaged in an epic battle for the top spot. Marc P. ended up being slightly faster than Braun's time on Sunday! |
Congrats to all the RX-8 folks! A great group of people that never cease to amaze me with their willingness to help competitors.
Mike, I was working the bus stop area both days and you looked great out there. A special thanks to Jason, Darren and David for cheering me on and pushing for more. Now if I can just put two days together at one event! |
Thanks guys, Chike congratz on the 3rd in the MSP, you got much faster on day 2!
And Tom, your 48.5? on day two was a hell of a time if you didn't cone. I know you were hoping it was a clean run. |
Thanks Mike - S.C.W (Shoulda', Coulda', Woulda')
I told Jason I was gonna get a 48.5 to beat his .7? and that's what I got. It was the best run I've had - maybe ever - even with the cones! the car went where I pointed it and felt incredible the whole run. I knew I picked up the cone close to the finish, but the second one - down near the turn around - must've been a brush 'cuz I had no idea. Can't wait for Atlanta. |

Tom, you put down some very impressive times on Sunday! Without a tire warmer, too. It was great to see you and Karen again. I wish I could've joined you guys... CS grid looked empty without the blue one. :grouphug:
I enjoyed the challenges of STR though... running a car I didn't know in a class of 29 people. Threw/coned Saturday away, but had a much, much better day 2 after getting a little more used to how these mid-engined things like to be driven. :)

Btw, nice job climbing into the trophies, Chike! Thanks for all the setup advice and ideas. Hope to see you again later in the year! |
Not a lot of run groups but some good shots anyway.
Mostly 2nd and 4th groups on Saturday. http://www.flickr.com/photos/1176002...7626271301482/ |
