2010 Finger Lakes NT
Day 1 results are up: http://www.scca.org/documents/result...20results1.pdf
It apparently rained overnight so heat 1 drivers had to contend with a damp/drying course. Congrats to Daddio who has a strong lead in CS over a very solid driver in Bud Collins ( Bud finished 3rd in CS at Nats last year). |
Day 1 (Heat 1) video by a STS driver currently sitting in the 4th and final trophy spot. This was his 2nd run. I can see a few damp spots in places (and some standing water in places off the course), but by-and-large it looks like they had a dry course.

I wish I had gone :(

Wish I could have gone, but had to take care of some business on the home front :( Ah well, the car isn't anywhere near full STX spec yet anyway, so I would have just been a pylon out there anyway.
|
so it looks like i can't use the car as an excuse any longer...;) i run against Jeff M and Mark L (and Jerry Enger in Mark's car) in those 370s every event, and can never seem to get past them. they are solid drivers but not at alien level. but good to see that the RX-8 still has it...obviously the difference is still me!
nice job Daddio! |

Interesting comparisons abound...notice the fastest Miata in the heat was an ES car (and by a good margin). We'll see what happens in Lincoln, but even with Daddio's incredible skills, I'm not thinking it will be too pretty for the '8.
I still can't understand how this CS/BS merge came about...I wrote my letter, I know a ton of people who also did so, yet here we are...too bad, the "real" BS could have been a very cool class. |
go Mark

while the merge might not have been the best outcome, that seems to be academic at this point, b/c we are where we are...i doubt they are going to reverse it and split cars back out. hey, maybe the RX-8--rather than the 370--should go to FS? ;) |

They ask for letters not to tally for/against a proposal, but rather to have ideas and viewpoints presented that might have otherwise not considered or possibly overlooked. Generally most minds are already made up long before it's ever presented to the general membership.
|
A Stock has been a no-show class due to the re-classing, at least B Stock in 2008 & 2009 was filled up with RX-8's

Keith, any idea how much your '09 weighs in race trim (with a racing fuel load)? I'm wondering how much more your '09 sport weighs compared to the '04-'08 models.
