Just changed mine, they're a PITA. just take it in... it's not worth the hassle, unless you have a lift and the tools.......

Fronts are super easy, rears, well not if you don't know what your doing.

ive never had any trouble at all... working on an 8 is easy

i got some that are moderately used (like 30k) but shipping wouldnt be worth it. best bet to go on ebizzle.

If you can get the damn screws out of the front they are easy. rears just suck because of the piston turning for pads... :)

Impact hammer (like $10) makes childs play of the philips screw on the front rotor....

Brake tool (like $10) makes turning the piston a snap

It's one of the easier tasks to do on the car...with the right tools

Right tools make soooooo much difference don't they!

You can get stock sized two-piece rotors from racingbrake that will save 4.4 lbs of unsprung rotational weight in each of the front corners and 2.5 lbs per rear corner. An additional 6-7 lbs per corner can be saved with their aluminum calipers. Not cheap but I think unsprung weight is a particular weakness on the RX-8, at least it is on my commute over rough bumpy hilly "mountain" roads.

If you were in Jersey, I could let you borrow my impact driver and brake wrenches. These make things much easier as spin and mazurfer have said.

I have a set of stock rotors for the front and rear, less than 5k on them. I'll take $100 for them, you pay for shipping. I'm at 73505 Oklahoma.
