Thank you, Eren |
Somewhere in these threads, it was pointed out that failures or intermittant operation of these amps were usually caused by a bad $4 relay which is easily replaced. Sorry I can't remember where I saw this.

Relay, ok, I was suspecting a bad transformer but I'll dig a little deeper! Thanks!!!:smoker:
|
LeBren, did you ever find out whats up with the relay?
|
It's the relay, It's a matter of time before many other owners have this same problem. I was almost ready to buy the relays in bulk and offering a service to replace them (a lot of members don't have the equipment/experience)
|
Dude. If you get this done PLEEEEAAASEE put me down for one! I have had the amp out (or what I thought, but it sounds like this is a common thing) forever and I would love to give this a shot.

Relay replacement no fix for my problem
I replaced my relay and it did not fix the problem. At this point I'm contemplating two small aftermarket amps in the doors to drive those speakers, or a central 5-channel amp with a sub.
I'd be curious to know the replacement cost of those door amps, which are about as flimsy as it gets. Nobody on here seems to have a source for those, and a few online places claim to have them for over $200. Fifty bucks a door is my absolute maximum, before the aftermarket break-even point takes over... |
