I have an overflow tank. The sensor in it is going out. Let me know if you want it.
no thanks that why i need one my is going bad too
Can't you just replace the sensor?
nope.
Have ya'll both checked that thread where you can clean the tank? I thought that helped.
the sensor is molded into the bottom of the tank. it's a known defect with the older overflow bottles that cause the low coolant light to come on after some spirited driving. it's covered under b2b warranty.
you can even just disconnect the sensor and the light won't come on at all, just check it periodically. $145 for a new coolant bottle |
cool thanks yea the level is fine it just that damn light that comes on whenever it feels like. do you know where the plug is to unplug?
Couldn't find a pic right away, but it's the gray vertical one just on the left side of the bottle, right in front of that hose connection and the battery cover.
Remember that if you do unplug it, then you should monitor your coolant level quite often! And...........then the idiot temp gauge on the dash becomes that much more important to keep an eye on as well. |
Mazurfer... you should direct him to your thread. It was quite impressive.
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...radiator+light And MazdaManiac shows you how to disconect it. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...radiator+light |
yea cool i check it anyways. thanks dude
Yeah...........I think my thread was okay(good info in it), so thanks for that, but it doesn't seem like cleaning it really helps for any long period of time...........for most folks anyway.
I have one thing going for me... i am still covered by Mazda. Having mine replaced tomorrow along with a few other things.
