My son and I purchased a damaged (vandalism) R3 from a local insurance auction. We're building a racecar! Typical father-son project.

The car was beaten with a bat. No accidents, no glass, no water. None of that. 15k miles on the seats.

Very good shape. Pictures dont do them justice, the seats look great in person. The camera made them look grainy.





No other parts availible. We sold almost everything to a local RX8 guy, Geremy Randalson, he might be on here.

We are from Montreal QUEBEC CANADA!

We are asking $3000, a fraction of what they cost new. Saw some figures in the 6k each mark! Yikes! Help us buy our ohlins!

I saw 3k and I thought that's kinda high but then I saw your from Canada and I know how much more Rx-8s are there than here in the USA.

 

I know they bolt onto the S1 just fine, but will it throw an airbag error light?

 

I think if someone offers $2000+shipping it be a good deal

 

3k$ for seats, gotta be full of $ or pretty dumb to buy OEM seats (used BTW) that expensive.

 

Shame, as my price is much less than half of msrp, and are assembled. Mazda sells the peices, not the whole seat.

 

id prefer full race bucket seats for half the price of those, GLWS but i'll never pay that much for OEM pieces

 

The price is negotiable, everyone seems scared to offer.

 

Dealership charges $500 for a S1 rim, they usually sell as a set for around $350-500.

For R3 rims, they go for roughly $1500 a rim at the dealership, they go for a set + tires for around $1500.

So you can't really compare it to dealership prices. There was a sale on them a few months ago much less as well. But again, I know Canadian prices are way different than US prices which is what people should take into consideration.

 

the plug for the airbag wire is the same. wont throw a code and I'm pretty sure the airbag works too.

I didnt pay nearly as much. but they are amazing seats. GLWS. If you have power seats for your S1. you can actually take the recaros apart and use the S1 base to give you power seats, cuz i dont think the oem Recaro base is powered.

 

sold our rims for 2500... :S

 

They are more cheap and broke then scared. I'm not sure you will get $3k but a direct bolt in recaro leather sport seat with functioning air bags is easily worth $2k+.

Yes, only FRONT seats. that is the left front, and right front. removed from a North american Left Hand drive Model, and will work in series 1 cars, and the airbags will work with s1 cars aswell, to keep you legal.

 

What the F---, its doesnt come with the back seats? That just makes the seats like any other RECARO or buckets out there. The seats as a set (4) would be better as a Collectible Interior. Whats stopping you from selling the back included? You are building a race car after all...

 

Uh, could you define OEM? Kindly look into your interior and let us know if you see any Recaro Sporster CS, then clearly explain to us why the R3 seats are OEM
