HJS Motorsport GT 1407/10 PE Ultra-High Flow 100 CPI Cat Converter

Sorry, decided to keep it for a turbo street RX8 project. Mods please close the thread

Not sure if this has been sold yet; but you mentioned you didn't have any cel emissions issues; can I assume this would pass an OBDII emissions test? If so, and it's still up for sale I'm interested.

No, sorry. I forgot about this ad. I’m going to keep it for my custom turbo street car project that I recently bought a 2nd RX8 for.

Yes, it does pass OBD2 emissions without any cheats if you have everything else operational and in place. I had it on my RX8 when I ran in an emissions-legal racing class. It might have some light fumes when first starting up when stone cold, but it otherwise was fume free as far as I can recall/remember once it started warming up and then hit normal operating temprtatures.

I highly recommend the HJS cat converter for all RX8s, though this one was quite oversized for racing purposes. I believe there’s another one in here for sale that has the “PE” designation with 3” inlet/outlet in the part number and is rated for 300 bhp. I ran that one earlier on my RX8 from 2006 - 2007 when I ran in the same racing class, but then moved back to the Factory-Stock racing class in 2008 and sold it. A member here bought it for their turbo RX8. At the time it was the largest one they sold. When I bought this one in Dec/2009 it was the largest one they sold, but now they have one rated for 500 bhp with 3.5” inlet/outlet.

Well good luck and if you need help finding the other one I mentioned then please let me know and I’ll see if I can find it. The search engine is all but useless now thanks to all the people who think they’re special and deserve to have their own unique thread on subjects rather than bumping existing threads that have covered the topic 5x over.

As a current user of an HJS Tuning cat, I can confirm that, yes, it smells a bit on cold starts(most cars do anyway), but there is no smell once the car is warmed up. Never had the P0420 code.

Yes, but my comments are relative to the higher flowing 100cpsi Motorsport cat intended for emissions-compliant racing classes or racers who prefer to to be emissions friendly, which is also what was being sold here, not the tighter 200cpsi Tuning cats intended more for street use that you're referring to ...
