Grom-BT3 BT and Wireless Audio 02-08
1 Attachment(s)
Want to sell a used GROM-BT3 Bluetooth Hands Free and A2DP Car Kit. Asking price is $75 shipped to US addresses (i.e. shipping included by USPS priority). International shipping can be arranged separately at the expense of the buyer. Payment method by Paypal. Shipped from Santa Barbara, CA.
Product details can be found at Grom's Website.
The firmware is setup as recommended CD Changer but can be reflash to SAT. DOES NOT provide track info on the RX8's display on CD Changer firmware. However, it can be reflashed to SAT mode to display audio text info using a micro sd card, instruction and firmware available here.
It allows for hands free bluetooth phonecalls, hit next track on the steering wheel to answer calls, previous track to reject call. Tap seek up twice on the radio to initiate the phone's voice control, available commands will vary by phone.
Allows for audio streaming by bluetooth. Whatever audio you play on the phone will play over the car's spearker, assuming your phone supports audio streaming. I recommend loading a playlist and next/previous track on the steering wheel works fine. Unfortunately, you can't easily switch playlist with the steering wheel control but you can for instance ask Siri to play a certain playlist if you use an iphone. Again results, will vary by phone.
The unit plugs right into the CD/SAT port on the back of the radio. Installation time will amount to how long it takes you to pull the factory radio out. After that just mount the mic somewhere near the steering wheel (you'll need a small bit of double sided tap) and toss the unit in the glove compartment. That's it.
You can get the optional cables from Grom. I never found the need for them.
