FS: Penske 8300 Double Adjustable Remote Rear Shocks
I'm selling a pair of rear Penske 8300s with custom top-hats to incorporate a spherical bearing, as opposed to the factory rubber donut bushings.
These were rebuilt by Jon Lugod at Shaftworks in late 2021 and they haven't seen much use since then. I have dyno curves and can provide upon request. I am including the adjustment collars / lower spring perches set up for 2.5" ID springs. Springs 5" or 6" in length will work with these. Depending on ride height, you can also use a helper or tender to secure the main springs when the car is jacked up. I'm not including helpers, tenders or a spring coupler. New these shocks are over $1100 each by themselves, plus the work to adapt the spherical bearings. I'm asking $1200 for everything (if you have an NC Miata I will include a pair of aluminum NC upper mounts rather than the RX-8 uppers). Buyer pays actual shipping and paypal fees. e-mail me: johnvitamvas at gmail. I won't respond to PM's sent on this forum. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw...-no?authuser=0 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw...-no?authuser=0 |
How are these still here?!? Penske is the real deal and this is more than a steal.
If I were looking to buy / put together a serious motorsports grade setup, these inverted dampers are an awesome place to start. GLWS! |

If I were looking to buy / put together a serious motorsports grade setup, these inverted dampers are an awesome place to start. GLWS! These are normally $1200 a damper, and that doesn't include the spherical bearing upper mount, nor the fab work done to make them work, etc. |
Just correcting a mistake made by the other commenter; the shocks are not positioned in an inverted configuration.
GLWS. . |

GLWS. . There are pros and cons to this setup and there are pros and cons to inverting the rear shock as well. |
Oh geez guys! I must've glanced at the image and my mind somehow assumed they were. Sorry for the confusion. In either case, it's still a great deal for someone.
