Selling off a few aftermarket parts I have, keep an eye out for more listings..
NRG polished hood dampers w/ hardware, perfect shape SOLD
Attachment 275466

AUXmod input..this unit plugs directly into a port on the stock RX8 radio, and has a 3.5 line input. No firmware update needed. Anything plugged in (ipod, dvd player, etc), goes directly through the stereo system by pressing the Tape/Md button. Make sure you have a Tape/MP button on your stock radio..most do. Works great, and hard to find anymore because the company has been sold out for awhile. SOLD

I'm slightly confused by the Auxmod. It looks like it plugs into the back of the head unit, but the aux port is right on the device itself? How do you connect to the aux port?

Or does it not plug into the back of the head unit? You state "plugs directly into a port on the stock RX8 radio", so where is this port?

Hood dampers may be pending.

theres an empty cavity behind the plastic panel (wing looking thing)in the middle of the stock radio..in this cavity on the radio theres a port, that this board plugs into. You run a plug from the aux input on the board, which you stick in this cavity, down behind the dash and to whatever you want (ipod in center console, dvd player, etc). Simple 5-10 minute install.
Heres a pic, this is the stock radio without the faceplate (and upside down)

Gotcha, so remove faceplate, plug under the radio (do I need to remove the radio? or can I leave it in place and feel this in?), and it's connected.

So I will need an aux cable in addition to this unit, correct?

shakeyourbrakes 08-20-2009 03:40 PM

if i remember right you can attach it by taking off that plastic wing cover on the radio, i think theres enough space to get your fingers in there and plug it in. Pretty simple.. yea if your using an ipod or something you just need a basic 3.5 to 3.5 line (headphone jack size)..the same thing you would use if you were connecting an ipod to any other aux input. Theyre a couple bucks at best buy or any store..

JinDesu 08-20-2009 03:42 PM

shakeyourbrakes 08-20-2009 10:13 PM

yup sorry... you can try emailing the company and see if you can track one down though them

nvrfalter 08-20-2009 11:21 PM

hey jindesu when you get the auxmod you should see if you could get a shop or someone to duplicate it and make a bunch. could make a bit of money and do a nice service to the community cuz it seems like a good little easy way to get an aux input :)

eduncks 08-21-2009 07:15 AM

ya nvrfalter thats a good idea. but what company makes these auxmods?

shakeyourbrakes 08-21-2009 11:09 AM

http://www.sylfex.com/products/AuxMod/

a little company called sylfex, about 70 shipped I believe which is a great deal... theres not much about it on the forum, but i initally found a link through a thread somewhere on here....i doubt someone would copy this, besides there being copyright infringement issues it seems pretty complex.

I'd need a pretty good suggestion on WHERE to find this lol... I wouldn't want to bring it to the local asian tech shops and watch them melt it..

but brakes got a good point about the copyright.

nvrfalter 08-21-2009 11:06 PM

ah i dont think you'd run into copyright problems if theyre out of business/not around. if you found a someone who didnt have problems replicating it, i'd do it

dondo 08-21-2009 11:31 PM

how much did those dampers sell for?

Twiztid 08-22-2009 09:22 AM

NoOdLe BoY 08-22-2009 09:51 AM
