Hey I'm still interested I tried to PM you but your inbox is full can you PM when you have some room

prisonerofcs 11-08-2009 06:31 PM

How long will these last vs the stock coils? Are they more durable or just a stronger spark?

jaisy207 11-08-2009 07:37 PM

gm coils will last ALOT longer and can be picked up at any parts store for less than the rx8 coils. pretty much a win win situation. a couple people i know have bad coils on there rx8s and its just embarrassing listening to them try to start there cars

rotoryfan1991 11-08-2009 08:48 PM

^^ what he said. my stock coils blew, put new ones on for the ones that were bad and they blew within a month.. i got tired of spending money on oem so i built myself the kit with the better ls2 coils.

I Pm'd you droob

Seems like the same hardware that BHR uses for their kit. They do however have a ground strap on their kit I think......do you have this as well?

Yup sure do, it is neccesary because the ls2 coil has a 4 pin plug, rx8 has 3, so the extra one that comes from the ls2 is just a chassis ground. :wiggle:

epikeddie 11-18-2009 06:52 PM

Ahhhh.....thank you for clarifying this. If I recall correctly, those parts that make up the BHR kit and yours.....aren't cheap.

Tempting....very tempting :)

rotoryfan1991 11-20-2009 04:23 PM

Nope they are actually pretty expensive and alot of work.

jaisy207 11-20-2009 04:33 PM

well worth the money. im suprised no one has picked it up yet. i think what this setup must be missing is the namebrand tag cuz everything else is the same as the $500 setups
good luck with sale

epikeddie 11-20-2009 05:28 PM

I'm sold. I'll let you know about the payment.

epikeddie 11-23-2009 12:19 PM

Payment sent!

Similar, though this setup will not fit on a GReddy turbo car because of the mounting location.

Yep, and no warranty.

epikeddie 11-23-2009 02:40 PM

Switched minds.....going with the BHR kit due to time constraints. Thanks for being helpful with all the questions though.

Not a "warranty" But i will stand behind it. If it doesnt work for any reason ill fix it or give money back. I sold the one on here to droob whom said,

"I got the coils installed yesterday, your instructions were great.

The car not only starts quicker it also runs waaayyyy smoother. Definitely the best mod I've done to date. It makes me wonder if one of my coils had actually been completely fried.

Cheers,

-Drew"

Seems to be working well for me and him so far. Also i had more coils laying around so i made a few more kits.. Didnt have anything else to do with the parts.. So if anyones interested in upgrading their ignition Pm me.

9krpmrx8 12-15-2009 11:10 PM

That's cool if you warranty it.

Nope.

The BHR sits a few inches further back and is smaller.
Your setup extends past the axis of the belts, which will intrude on the intake piping from the turbo.

Ooo makes sense man, well the one in the pic does sit further out (was the first one i made) the latest ones i made sit further back and are not as tall.
