I bought my 8 with a blown engine and while searching for a replacement I stumbled across pettit racing. I think I'm just going to buy a replacement out of a wrecked 8 but planning on eventually swapping for a pettit so I'm just writing to pick your brain if that's alright how did you like it? did it perform to expectations? how was it's durability providing it's teken care of properly? Any feedback would be much appreciated!

A few details on the build
The engine is a Pettit Stage II streetported race build with 2MM FD Apex Seals, MANY modifications to the oil system, port cleaning, cooling jackets, Pettit cooling system mods and Pettit rotor housing mods which improve exhaust port cooling and minimize surface protrusion around lead plugs, main and rotor bearings clearanced to race specs, Micor finish on all critical surfaces, clean room assembled and static compression tested.
It has low mileage and pulls 20 inches of vacuum at idle. It was built to withstand forced induction and thrashing at the track. Pettit really stands behind their engines...I highly recommend you call Cam and talk to him about it. You won't be disappointed.
These engines retail from Pettit for ~$8K. I am asking $5K for the whole thing. I would even include the custom LOWER intake manifold. Runners shaped, smoothed, polished, ventilated, jet air deleted with reshaped port and VDI filled in, tubular header with 3" true merge collector. This is one of the only ones in the U.S. and a noticable difference in power.
If anyone wants the custom lower intake manifold and the longtube header/merge collector I'll let if go for $700
