Bump.
These are shorter than the OE stops; I shimmed the rears up to stock length and it made a nice difference in my steady-state balance by keeping the front suspension off the stops (not to mention the harshness over big bumps). These are ~$110 +shipping from FCM. |
wats the purpose of these?

I was able to dial out some steady-state understeer by shimming the rears to OE height (whites plus a portion of the OE stops) but using just the reds on the front. The whites are stiffer than the reds. The RX-8 is designed to corner on its bumpstops (especially on stock springs + Hoosiers), so giving the front suspension a little more room to work meant that in cornering the suspension stayed off the stops in the front, effectively providing a softer front roll rate and improving grip. The fact that they are shorter and a bit softer meant that the effect of hitting them was a little more mild/progressive.
