You have no clue what you are talking about. The greddy manifold cracks...how is that safe? |

The greddy manifold cracks...how is that safe? I've build bigger turbo setups than anyone on this board I have ran across and can assure you the MM kit is a superior kit. HOWEVER, That is not to knock the Esmeril kit because it has done some somewhat impressive numbers within the last month or so and shows some promise. The perfect turbo for this car is a 3052, 3065 if you are feeling snappy, someone will figure that out one day and the rest of the world will be in big trouble. Why run a turbo so far out of its efficiency range? The world will never know.. lol |

The GReddy manifold does not crack. Its made to the same standards that OE manifolds have been made for yeas. A solid cast piece is ALWAYS going to be more durable than a welded piece, regardless of materials. |
T-Rex: WTF does that have to do with THIS kit?? Please take you discussion elsewhere, maybe try the Greddy Upgrade thread.

How often does this happen? I'm just going by the basics of both kits.l
The extra weight puts immense stress on a red hot manifold that is only cast iron. Without an additional support system it fails. How do I know...we used to sell the Greddy turbo kit. And reports from many customers. Ceramic coating it causes failure MUCH MUCH quicker as it concentrates the heat. |
Ceramic coating the manifold or turbine housing on a rotary application is dumb.
We don't need to hold the heat in - there is plenty to get the job done. There is little to no weight stress on the manifold - that is what the brace is for. "Only" cast iron? There is nothing more supple than hot ductile iron. That is why your manifold is made out of cast weld-els, isn't it? |
