COMPLETE GTX35R BB Turblown top mount
let me start with my story about Turblown; 1 year after placing my order for their Top mount turbo kit I finally received my kit. not surprised many things were wrong and or not functional on the kit. Manifold was leaking, Coolant spewing out after countless times bleeding and burping the system, Downpipe not clearing the APV (30% power loss after 7k rpms). All of these little things have been remedied and fixed.
I am a tune away from having this bad boy working at 100%. the total kit has no more than 14k miles on it. here is what is included in the kit: 1: GTX35R BB T4 turbo, turbo manifold (no leaks) 2: 2 piece downpipe w/ v band clamps (clears APV EASY) 3: Garrett core intercooler w/ iat gm sensor 4: complete intercooler piping, couplers, and clamps. 5: BOV, and tial wastegate w/ dumpipe 6: COMPLETE water, vacuum, and oil lines w/ oil sandwich plate 7: upper and lower radiator thermostat housing (needed to clear turbo) 8: upper and lower racing beat silicon radiator hoses 9: motor mount and motor mount bracket 10: (2) uncapped p2 yellow injectors 11: walbro lph 255 fuel pump (new) 12: AEM water meth injection (may be missing a few mounting bolts) 13: racingbeat ashtray gauge pod 14: dash mounted lotek gauge pod w/ boost, AF (new), and fuel pressure gauges (complete with harness' 15: Greddy profec B spec 2 boost controller COMPLETE w/ harness' and vacuum lines. 16: omp block off plate w/ bolts 17: coolant reservoir relocation bracket 18: PTP lava turbo blanket 19: Heat blanket for PCM harness The only drawbacks in my opinion with this kit are the heat top mounts produce, and the removal of the omp. I put 30k miles on my last engine 100% turbo broken in and everything 10k miles of which were on the turblown top mount and if it weren't for user error I believe she could have easily gone many more miles. I did manage to get a partial dyno (dyno was acting up) @ 4300 rpms she put down 250TQ, and 279 HP. Just as she was hitting full boost. Ill post some pictures of the kit later on today. thanks guys! My price is OBO |
hey 05. Where in Texas are you located? Is it attached to the car currently, or sitting in your garage?
I forgot to mention this kit will only fit a 6spd manual transmission.

Its installed on the car at the moment. literally a tune away from finishing the car. I am located in North Austin/ Round rock area. |
My mechanic has been looking for a top mount for a long ass time. I emailed him the thread. I take it you used the Cobb for this?
Yeah, it was tuned with the Cobb AP. Let me know man if you wanna come look at it on the car before I start removing it. remember it is OBO, I have some haggle room if he's really wanting one.
I already left him a voicemail. Hopefully he calls me back. We are in Dallas. He is a former NHRA RX7 national champion. He has a few shop rx8s, and wants them to be as fast as his Rx7. (No way a renesis does 700 whp, but you gotta start somewhere)
Yeah it wont be no 700 hp with a renesis powering it. I believe mine was probably around 330 rwhp. id say the kit is good for easily 450 hp but the renesis needs some work to get it there.
He wants a project. I'll let you know. good luck with sale
cool deal man. Let me know, and thanks for the GLWS brother.

Thanks brother! Yeah it is what it is although I did get this kit a while back. it wasn't recent. I spend a bit with the car down trying to get the kits bugs ironed out. |
decided to keep the kit, and set up an appointment to get her tuned next wed.
if you're interested don't hesitate to message me. Im gonna leave this kit up for sale for the time being. |
SHE MADE 287.7 rwhp, and 201 tq on a Mustang Dyno @ 9.25 psi!
Boom shalakalakaboom.
STILL debating whether i should make a post on the power gain section of the forums.
do it

Sorry to hear that happened. I had to replace one at 42k miles. It started as a misfire and luckily I work on rotates and new I was getting good fuel and spark and so before it hit that point I took it in. Luckily my 08 is under warranty for one more year. As far as a rotary goes they are actually a very simple engine. Much less complex than most think. The fear of these engines in the lack of knowledge about them. Easiest way to repack the engine is by dropping the sub frame engine, Trans and driveshaft all in one and then separate but you need a lift for that. You might try and and purchase and after market warranty that covers that and try and use it but you may need to give it a couple months before you use it after purchase. Sucks but it may be the only way for you to get it fixed and while I don't like that because it's shady. You kind of got screwed in the first place.
