Carbon Fiber Hood
 

*used* carbon fiber hood. The hood has been painted black with clearcoat. The paint job is really nice. There are only a few small blemishes on the hood as the second picture illustrates. I am asking $75 "pick-up only". I sold my car and took this off. This is a really nice hood with excellent fitment. This came off my 2004 RX8.

Painting the hood kinda defeats the purpose of it being a CF hood no?

Not really. The main reason I chose CF is weight reduction. I am not a fan of the CF look, so I painted it gloss black.

cf hoods are not much lighter than our alluminum factory hoods. you said its painted gloss black, is this correct or do you mean factory brilliant black?

CF is not much of a weight savings, if any.

It is not the factory brilliant black. Still I decided to go for the CF hood even if the weight difference is slim. The clear off the CF hood started coming off, so I figured I would paint it and re-clear the hood.

I am open for reasonable offers.

I wish I could. Just so difficult finding a box. Anything that you ship this big has a chance of damage as well. I'm trying to keep it cheap enough so someone will drive to get it.

How far away from Cinci is this? Im in central KY. Might be able to make a deal for the hood and car cover If its a close enough drive.

Depends on far, it's about 250Miles from you. I believe you just have to take 64 to 77.
I would be all over this if it wasn't black (I'm going for CF look) :(

If I get it Im sanding it down and re clearing it. I dont get painting it black, thats what the cheap kids do to make it look like they have a CF hood. But for the price I dont mind sanding it back down to the original clear and reclearing it, maybe with a touch of my VR around the line of the rotary emblem might look good on it too IDK. been thinkin a lot of what to do with it if I get it. def interested in the factory car cover too tho, so the deal better be pretty damn good if Id have to drive a 500 mile round trip.

The car cover is "sold" by the way. The only item that will come with this deal is the hood.

I also don't consider myself a cheap kid and I decided to paint the hood black because I wanted to. I got a good deal on this hood so it was no loss for me. The paint job on this hood is really nice I think. I sold my car and now I want this gone. If you don't want it that is fine, but I think it is still a good deal for $100 for someone to pick this thing up.
