Brand New RX-8 OEM Mazda Clutch Set
3 Attachment(s)
NEW PRICE!
I'm selling this for a friend of mine who sold his 8. It's a brand new OEM Mazda clutch set for the 04-11 RX-8. This is a clutch disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearings(One for the 04-08 Series1 & one for the 09-11 Series2). Evidently, the dealer sold him the Series2 throwout bearing instead of the pilot bearing. The only things missing to make it a "complete kit" is the pilot bearing & seal and the alignment tool, all of which can be had for $13 +shipping from Mazdatrix. He paid almost $500 for everything with an employee discount. Asking $335 shipped anywhere in the lower 48. Attachment 243785 Attachment 243786 Attachment 243787 |
hmm, didint know Exedy made the Mazda stock clutch. Interesting.
GL with sale. |
He didn't get screwed, as retail would have been close to $650. Could he have gotten a better deal? Sure, but he's one of those guy's that wants everything Factory OEM.
PM sent back at you. |

I live just north of you, and i would love to upgrade my clutch, seeing as my pressure plate and throwout bearings are going bad.
|
It's not an upgrade, it's an OEM replacement.

Exedy has made clutches for most Japanese automakers since the 80's.

unfortunatly, for 350. You can put an aftermarket upgrade in. I dont think this will go for 335 anytime soon. Still more effective to get a stage 2 or even stage 3.

Unless you are interested in the clutch kit or have questions, please keep comments to yourself! Thanks! There is nothing wrong with an OEM clutch. An upgrade clutch is not practical for everybody, and my asking price is not unreasonable and I'm not firm on it.

That is a VERY GOOD Price for Genuine...
Yeah sure you can put in a so called 'upgrade Clutch"...part of the reason why only the LHD US 8's have seen so many Clutch Pedal Brackets go...the OEM Clutch Pedal Brkt can not cope with a heavier duty clutch than the OEM...without Pedal modifications. The RHD Clutch Pedal Bracket is made by the same vendor as LHD, engineering wise they are identical, RHD markets don't upgrade perfectly good OEM Clutches...and don't have the Pedal failure either...prove me wrong. Let the Flaming Begin. |
AHH..Sleeping...second look..
Hate to tell you this but the Pressure Plate pictured you are showing is not for the RX-8. LF04-16-410A Pressure Plate is for a NC MX-5/Miata, 2005-2011...NOT RX-8. N318-16-410B P P is for the RX-8 and is a stronger P P than the LF04 you are showing for a Miata? |
I just bough a complete Stage 1 Exedy kit for under $300 shipped

You may not understand or sympathise with how it really works..
Yes, you can find Brand Manufactured Parts Cheaper (like Exedy) elsewhere, but the OEM Parts purchased from any OEM Dealer/Distributor has another 1-2 layers of handling (cost/profit)...always has been that way..always will....OEM also gives you a factory warranty. The Consumer pays for the cost of stocking/making of OEM Parts, holding of large inventories for up to 15 years, particularly those parts actually made by the brand manufacturer (not in this case).. If you are a Parts Importer/Distributor or (even retail Dealer) holding $30mil plus of stock for years on end, the largest percentage being dead stock, who do you expect pays for that luxury/cost of having parts 'on hand', the consumer or the maker/shareholders. Try adding 4,000 line items of brand new "exclusive" parts to your inventory every 12 months and manage it. It is relatively easy to stock, market and retail only higher volume or limited line item car parts. |
