This Adaptronic e420c Plug and Play ECU (for Series 1 RX8) is in perfect working condition and comes with the wire harness to plug into the stock ECU as well a 3-Bar MAP Sensor.
This is the first generation of Adaptronic Plug and Play ECU's for Series 1 RX8's.

See info below from Adaptronic about this unit.
Thx!

Adaptronic: "Our RX-8 plug-in kit is a single 'piece' which contains a circuit board with an e420c adapted to it, and the the necessary external components, and the plugs/connectors required to retain the factory ECU together with the e420c ECU.
The kit retains the factory ECU for the drive-by-wire electronic throttle, cruise control, traction control, etc.
The kit uses our e420c ECU for fuel injection, ignition timing, SSV, VDI, APV, VFAD, etc.
If you have a non-standard airbox (?) without VFAD, you could do boost control using the aux output that usually does VFAD.
The factory AFM can be used, but we don't know what boost level it can handle, so you may need to use one of our 3 bar MAP sensors instead."

Me: "When you say the AFM would still be retained for the factory ECU, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean it just has to remain plugged in so that the factory ECU senses it but it is not really used?"

Adaptronic: "That's pretty much it yeah. The factory ECU may get annoyed if it can't see the AFM, so it needs to be plugged in. The e420c can accept a MAP sensor or an RX8 AFM."

Is there an enclosure or case for it to protect the contact boards? Also, does it have a base map for the RX-8 to run, or will it require full provisioning from the start?

Yes there's an N/A base map that came with the ECU.
Here are some photos of how I had it mounted using the existing stock ECU enclosure. It's not 100% protected from the elements but I never had an issue rain or shine.
Thx.
