2 Carbon Fiber vented Hoods: Seibon and VIS Racing

Two RX-8 carbon fiber vented hoods for sale. Pick up in So Cal (93536). This is last minute, but on June 1 I’d be able to deliver as far south as Carlsbad, CA for $100. If you want it shipped, then let me know after you figure out the shipping logistics (like Uship or an LTL-type freight company) and I’ll be willing to be available for the shipping company to pick up. I only have one box to ship a hood.

  1. Seibon: $1,000
  2. VIS Racing: $1,100
    • this is wrapped in clearbra for protection

are you near SoCal to pick up? I only have one box big enough to ship one hood.

USAF_AV8R 06-06-2023 03:54 PM

also, I could deliver within SoCal between 6-10 June for $100 (gas and time).

1/2 off?

running to get my popcorn … :suspect:
.

jmauld 07-01-2023 09:19 PM

I’m in at $510

I could bring these to SevenStock if anyone is going and wants to pick up. A $50 non-refundable deposit that’s applied to the purchase price would be required beforehand since they’d only fit in my truck that I otherwise wouldn’t use tomorrow.

Hows the fitment on the seibon hood? I can't find a Varis hood for the life of me.

samakijoe 11-20-2023 02:43 PM

Just notice that the second of the two styles has a cover below
the openings to keep the rain water off the engine. (I guess??)
Which is nice, but this design will only pull air from the front of the engine
not over the engine which defeats the purpose of having vents on the hood in the first place....
Or has my brain taken a short vacation??? ...:scratchhe

vent covers are removable so people can remove/install as needed for storage, storms, etc.

Not to be a hard nose here but it looks like the "cover " (catch pan) is attached with pop rivets.
The "on - off" plan could be a pain in the you know what...
But, if the buyer installed "rivnuts" it would be doable....

I’ll be driving from southern California (north of L.A.) to northern California (Bay-ish area) and be there from 24-26 Dec. I could bring one or both hoods for folks that live there or are along the route. There is a $100 non-refundable fee to cover fuel to be paid in advance since I’d be using my truck that I otherwise wouldn’t drive.

Any Chance you'll be doing this again in the spring/summer?

Any word on this? Passively interested, more for the summer, when the venting would be more useful (Traffic/spirited driving).

I could. I’m repositioning to spend more time in Cali in a few months. It’d be faster and probably cheaper in gas for you to drive down without a hood, install it on your car, then drive up.

$500+ shipping for the bottom one, to 48858?
