{FEELER} Enkei RPF1 17x9 +45
So long story short, I proposed to my gf this past weekend :) (she said yes .. dont worry). She always talked about getting me a gift when we got engaged and she is now entertaining the idea of getting me a nice set of wheels for the 8 :Eyecrazy:. We priced out some RPF1's w/ tires and looks like a decent package costs upwards of $1600 (tirerack, local pickup, w/ sumi tires {not great, but not terrible}).
Seen some great prices around here in the past for a tire/wheel package w/ people selling off some sets that they tracked. Not looking for dinged or curbed, but typical daily driven wear should be fine. Shes "entertaining the idea" which means that it has to be a tempting price so feel free to shoot me a PM. Thx! |
Check ebay. Just came across some today, the guys has 8 of them, and is selling them for a great price in my opinion. Just search "RX8" in the used car parts section.

Yep saw that one. 6 days left on it though so i can imagine the price will start to go up as we close in on the date. Wanted to bring some business to our members here though if anyone had a set to sell ;)

Be advised that they barely clear the factory Sport brakes and will not clear sftermarket brake upgrades Hou might also consider the 17x9 +45 16 lbs Kosei T1-S on sale at TireRack for $239 each which will clear aftermarket brakes. You have to search for it by choosing a 2006 Miata SCCA STR class model. Doesn't show up under the RX8 wheel listing. . |
Team, thanks for the response. I did notice and read up on the Kosei T1S's and thought they were a viable alternative, but looks like the MX5 forums hate on them pretty hard due to build quality/strength. I will have to weed through teh comments a bit more to see if it is mostly biased speak.

RPF1's clear the brakes just fine.. you just need to have the wheel weights put on the outside of the rim. I got mine from tirerack as well. Price was great but I had to take them to a shop and have the wheel balancing redone since the weights were in the way of the calipers.
|
ime the RPF1 isn't any stronger and the Miata OE brakes much smaller
can't clear an 1/8" tall wheel weight with the OE caliper is pretty close in my book, sure it clears but I clarified why he may want to consider an alternative is all |
