Wash+Claybar+Wash+Wax= Woah!

so this was my first time ever claying and waxing my car. the products i used were:

Turtle Wax Ice Car Wash
Mothers Clay bar
Mothers Showtime Instant Detailer
Meguiar's Gold Class paste Wax
Meguiar's Hot Shine Tire Cleaner

total was about $42 bucks. What a good way to spend 5 hours of my Saturday! The pictures don't give the car its shiny justice!

Enjoy

I like the window reflection in the 1st pic. Next time after you clay be sure to do a swirl removing step before the wax. Also, I'll tell you a little secret. Poorboys Natty's Paste Wax (blue). You will not believe the amount of flake that pops with this stuff. Trust me....just check out my posts in the Show & Shine threads.

Ja the first photo is real slick.

I think we have one that beats Jedi's Zaino!

bigphill911 10-08-2007 07:58 PM

Not close to zaino but it does look amazing!

ivory8 10-08-2007 09:50 PM

i actually like the second photo best, i dono i just tend to like all the blue reflections :)

bigphill911 10-08-2007 09:55 PM

Haha I was just playing I have never used zaino in my life either. I would love to have my car as shiny as urs it looks absolutly amazing. Did you have to use a buffer. I want to wax my car but I don't own a buffer and don't want swirl marks all over my black car haha.

ivory8 10-08-2007 10:29 PM

i just bought foam applicator pads, they are like a dollar a piece. i didnt use a buffer, all by hand. i used only 2 pads for the whole car, once 1 pad seemed over saturated with wax i got another 1. How many washes do u think a clay bar should last?? i have my family members begging me to do thier cars =P

lesper4 10-08-2007 10:35 PM

an easy way not to get swirl marks is not to swirl. if you buff out the wax going in the same direction as the wind passes over the car, you should get the best results.

Good job on the detail, Jordan! One thing though, you need some clear corner's a.s.a.p. I hated the orange light on my VR, it looks weird.

...and using the correct materials.

Good to know I'm not the only one.

dozer 10-09-2007 10:42 AM

bitchin' ride! bitchin' detail!, dude that looks like youll slide right off.....i would post pics of mine, but i dont know how.....i use meguiars soap, then the quick detail with the clay bar, then turtle wax ice wax, with armor all tire shine and mother chrome polisher on the rims

Kingsfan 10-09-2007 11:08 AM

looks awesome, i'm gonna have to do mine this weekend, i love how smooth the car feels after the claybar

w0rm 10-09-2007 11:21 AM

The claybar really does make an amazing difference. I tell everyone my car's clearcoat was the cleanest it had *Ever* been, better than delivery even- after I had claybarred all afternoon.

I used NXT Tech wax after the claybar though and it didn't hold up nearly as well as Meguires.

NgoRX8 10-09-2007 11:56 AM

claybar + polish will make the slickness even more amazing.
