video of my RX-8 at VIR Grand East
This is from last weekend at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, VA
The track was in the 'Grand East' configuration. 4.2 miles in length, it is the longest road course on the east coast. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...15796950918588 Turn down the volume if you don't like Initial D, turn it up if you do :D: EDIT: added link to a better quality video of my last full session at VIR from that weekend, 27 minutes of quality driving time!!! :ylsuper: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...60698709020150 |
Brother - that is the COOLEST in-car track RX8 Video I've seen. NO other video has EVER 'felt' that fast for me. VERY VERY Well done!!

It looks like you're a pretty good driver. How often do you track your 8?
|
this is only the 2nd time i've taken the 8 to the track, but before that i've already done track days in my old FC RX-7, and a couple more in *rental* cars
|
Can't wait to get my camara setup.
Great video. |
how much does it cost to run on the track? is it by runs? time limit? any requirements?
|
Well done H !!! I will try to get a video up this week.
Watching you tail the white EVO is a good example of the lack of Bhp versus a higher horsepower car equally well driven. It just pulls away at any acceleration point... But, his smile wasn't any bigger than yours (or mine) at the end :hahano: |
Excellent video, and I must say, that is one looooong lap. Well done, good driving. You basically solidified that I want to run this track next year. No time for it this year, but I really need to get up there one of these days, it looks like a lot of fun.
What kind of camera mount were you using to get that view? NASA will not allow suction mounts, was that what you were using? It is a good angle, I have done that for mountain runs, but not allowed for track time. |

yeah, i got one of those too, when I did autocross it was ok, but NASA requires a solid mount, that won't come loose. Camera has to be tied down too, no loose objects, or objects that could become flying objects.
Is there a scheudle somewhere for MazdaDrivers events? |

Very good Video! Also you have very good lines around the track.
|
new link of my full session video :D:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...60698709020150 I think I drove MUCH better in the last session, the lines are a lot smoother in this one :D: oh, and passing n00bs are fun :Eyecrazy: |
Great vid!
