Video of my RX-8
This is the first video I've ever made or edited. It's kind of rough but I figured I would share it with other RX-8ers. I'm sure everyone will agree the driving in the video is pro status! Anyways, I often find myself searching youtube to watch any and every video about RX-8s so here is my contribution.

I stopped the video at the part where it showed you losing the rear end and 'catching' it in opposing lanes of traffic not too far off the bumper of a car in those lanes. Not sure why you would include that, and I'd recommend removing the video (and thread?) completely.
Posting video proof of you breaking at least a couple laws is not exactly the brightest thing you could do, but then neither is that driving. |
Eh I don't like the gold wheels, too hard to watch

Learn to drive, this thread shouldn't exist.

look at your sig... then look at the video. After you do that read your original post again. Then tell me if you think any of us believe it's not your car in the video. I would never let someone drive my car that way and get away with it

I'm sure no one on this forum ever had some oversteer that got away from them.
Its clearly noticeable in every turn the driver is trying to fishtail, its clearly someone who has no idea what there doing. |
Yeah, no cop would have trouble confirming the connection, and the OP would have to file a stolen car report to get out from under it.
I'm also not trying to say that no one looses control ever. Simply that we all know our cars, and even if the result was accidental, making the decision to throw the car sideways into a situation where you could while around other cars is the dumb part. You the driver  initiated the action that started the rear breaking free, and just didn't get it under control in time. Then posting a video that could be used against you the driver in court is the icing on the cake. If DSC is on that car, then it would also be deliberately disabled, which would further compound the charge. I believe this is the statute that pertains here: http://www.moga.mo.gov/statutes/C300-399/3040000012.HTM which is already at a class B misdemeanor, i.e., higher than a speeding ticket, and only an accident away from being a class A Yeah, I've done stupid stuff before. Including while filming. I'm not about to post the video proof publicly though. |
C'mon guys the video wouldn't be very entertaining if nothing controversial happened would it?! Anyways, You tube videos and prosecution are not easy things to tie together. Statute of limitations is not renewed when the video hits the internet. Traffic laws have a limitation of 1 year in my state, who can tell me when this violation occurred? Also a car owner doesn't have to report a car stolen to not be held accountable (UNLESS it involves a collision or other criminal offense). Maybe the owner lives in an apartment where the keys are left hung on a rack by the door. Owner has 3 room mates and those room mates have friends. Police will have to interview each room mate and their list of friends to try and track down who was operating it. See where I'm going? ANYWAYS I've been on this forum since 2008 and I'd rather not have the mods and everyone else after me so video link is removed. Sorry to have raised the ire of all of you.

Just trying to protect you. Thinking that it's not easy is the wrong way to go about it. At my last job my VP would send me youtube clips taken from inside our store chain regularly (one about once every 3-4 weeks) and ask me to identify which store of our 7,000+, which employees, and when the video was taken. The longest it ever took me was ~9 hours.
Once you start adding in stuff like the PD getting the raw video clips from youtube, the account owner's info, etc... it would be a piece of cake to nail you with a charge. And don't think it doesn't happen either, because it has. All it takes is the wrong person seeing the video clip and deciding to pursue it. |
Being charged and being convicted or found guilty are two different things. It would be up to a judge to verify whether there is sufficient evidence in the video to say it was me driving and it happened less than 1 year ago. RIWWP beings there is no video or pictures in this thread now I suppose it doesn't conform to the rules for being posted in the Multimedia section and can be deleted if you are so inclined. Everyone can be happy again.

Exactly what it says. I didn't read the part in that quote that says I'm operating the car! You know there are people out there that make a good living off of people submitting video to have edited together. Even as it is MY car I'm taking no responsibility for the illegal and dangerous acts depicted in the video. That person is a hazard to all other drivers and should be pulled out of the car and shot!
|
Yeah whoever IS driving in that video is a fully qualified dumbass and should ride the short bus instead...

I think he gave them a lot more to work with than just a video. His face is in the rear view mirror! Look guys I'm not denying that people CAN be prosecuted off videos on you tube, I'm simply stating that in the video I posted there is not sufficient evidence to say it was me driving it. And as I have held throughout this entire thread I still say it was not me driving the car! Now the legal system says someone must prove that it WAS me.
