Nice vid!! I have been up there on motorcycles but I have not carried my car as of yet but it is in the plan! I am suprised I didn't see more vehicles and bikes on the road up there. I love how the 3500Z pulled over and let you pass nice!

The reason their were no cars was B/C it was about 6:00 A.M Sunday morning. Sat was kinda busy, It's kinda scary when you see a motorcycle rider coming at you and while turning he leans so much it looks like his helmets gonna hit your car. haha. That was my first time at Gap, the unspoken rule is if your slow, MOVE!!!!!!! The motorcycle riders will teach u that real fast. I thought I was fast in a car but OMG motorcycle riders are crazy. It's an amazing sight to see them drop a knee in front of you. And the cops were amazing. In the vid while the camera is up top you can see a SUV on the side of the road, that was a cop. I was going maybe 45-50++ in a 30, and all I got was a wave hello.

Not to confuse anyone, the video is of me driving my RX8. The 350Z was up their all morning and could'nt stay in his lane hehe. So he did the right thing right away and moved. lol!!

 

how did you mount the camera?

 

a very very very cool looking camera mount, it has a sucion cup with some kind of pump to keep it on my car. My friend ordered it from a uk site. I'll put a link to it soon.

 

How well does your radar dectector work?

 

no need for it at deals gap. Read this months Road and Track. they interview a cop about deals gap, and he even said that they are their to make sure everyone is safe, not to right tickets. but it works very well lol

 

Oh, I know. I read the article about it. I was wondering in general. I didn't know if Cobra's worked good or not. I HAVE GOT TO GET UP TO DEAL'S GAP! It's killin' me!

cool vid, man. A few friends and I will be going next month. We're making a production out of it and we'll have something like 7 cameras. 5 on or in the car, plus a chase and lead cam. We're registered a website (www.slaythedragonvideo.com) where we'll post my time in my RX-8 and you'll be able to get the DVD that we'll make. We also intend for this site to be somewhere that can keep track of records for cars there. I'll kindof put my time up there and say, "hey, show me the video of you beating it!" Maybe we'll host faster videos, or expand this in the future. In any case, just keep an eye out for this later in the summer.

I will def take that challenge lol. The reason I had the wheel angle was B/C I just had Tein springs put in and new rims. I wanted to see if their was any rubbing during hard turning.

 

We have some nice twisties in Az. This gave me the idea to mount the extra camera I have..

Very nice. A bit long but very NICE.

 

Very cool. Obviously in desperate need of engine audio. Would also be nice to have multiple camera angles w/ more frequent cuts. I found myself getting a bit motion sick with the prolonged wheel cam. Looks like a ton of fun!

 

Loved it. Although I didn't really feel the speed of it, it felt like it was more like a joy ride than anything else. But hell, I want a camera mount like that. I definitely want to start taking treks since the weather's gotten nice.

 

I like the music selection - makes the video more lively. How did you have your camera mounted to get that shot? -Never mind, I just read your reply to a similar question - can't wait for the link to the camera mount. I'll definitely look into investing in one.
