Track Video RX-8 / S2000
pretty cool, good to see him make the pass at the end.
I really enjoyed watching that. Not because he passed the S2000, but more of the way he drove. A real pro.
The S2000 wasn't doing very well, seemed to miss several apexes and/or it wasn't set up well. Looks like the 8 ate his lunch pretty plainly in the corners and in the straights. I thought is should be the other way around? Or maybe they were just playing :)
Nice vids though! |
Yes nice videos and good quality too, thanks for that :)
Did anybody else notice the flames shooting from the 8? 3:22 into the second video you can see it during a downshift, again at 3:46 during an upshift. (just a couple examples, it happens frequently) :)
Great videos!! Hopefully one day I can take mine out to the track and really test it. Great find.
Yes, you often see the 8 flame in these track video's. If I recall correctly, Hymee's video's show more of the same.
the flame from stock?
I'd believe it...I can roast marshmellows off the exhaust when its revved |
Hymee has a video too? I've been missing a ton of things lately!

The track looked really small. I'm surprised it's considered fast. Guess it was the darkness.
The heel-toe downshifts the guy in the S2000 was doing were largely ceremonial or something. He blips the throttle, the car goes back down near idle, then the clutch drags the engine up to speed. There was no rev-matching. The RX-8 driver was just *way* more experienced.
Nice videos!
Yeah, you can tell they were either just playing around or the S2000 driver was definetely not as good as the RX8 driver. The S2000 should pull away more and it did on the longer straights and the S2000 driver shifted WAY too early and was in the wrong gear half the time. Really cool videos though. |
Extremely cool. The sound of the rotary combined with a top driver cant be beat!

Finally he passes and hits 141mph!
then he starts driving like a race car driver and keeping the Revs up. What? What's this? 164mph!!! Man that Sc200 really flies. It has the power not only to catch up quickly but pass at anytime the driver wants too! Nice car. |
That's kph...
