are you even lowered?

TopGear8 08-20-2009 09:57 PM

My front bumper and side skirts are 3.5" off the ground...Think I'll make it?

R3 is a lower than typical stock. Rhino's won't work without rubbing.

J8635621 08-20-2009 10:09 PM

I have the jack ramps or whatever that get the car an extra 6" off the ground so a jack will fit under the car. Awesome products. There are coupon codes if you google.

TopGear8 08-20-2009 10:09 PM

^Lower than stock yes, would you like to go out and measure the hight of the front lip from ground please?

Thanks!

:)

I'm going to guess about 4.5"

Take a yardstick (or tape measure - put it to 3 ft) and then put it right to the edge of your front tire and pull it up tight to your bumper lip. If the gap between the 3ft mark of the tape measure or end of yardstick is 7.25 inches or more off the ground then your fine.

My guess is that you would be fine.

Yes I used 10% off. Probably more out there if you look longer.

I will tomorrow, I put the ramps away already lol.

pdxhak 08-20-2009 11:06 PM

I think he 04-08 with OE lip is like 5.5" or 6" off the ground. Does the R3 sit an inch lower?

chickenwafer 08-20-2009 11:14 PM

ehhh I still don't think I could make it, I'm slammed and have the MS front

pdxhak 08-20-2009 11:32 PM

I doubt I could use the ramps with my lip

-RX8- 08-21-2009 12:07 AM

takata makes ramps too, i believe they're lower.

9krpmrx8 08-21-2009 01:01 AM

Rhino ramps FTW! I'm lowered and have no problem getting up and they are $30.00.

you probably have a stock bumper then, I'm lowered as well with Tsunami front bumper and won't clear the rhino ramps.

9krpmrx8 08-21-2009 01:25 AM

Yeah I am.

tiltmode43 08-21-2009 02:19 AM

OEM jack won't even fit under my car, by far :(

Pointless post? Yes.

J8635621 08-21-2009 02:45 AM

http://www.raceramps.com/trakjax.html What I have and it actually raises the car 3". I don't need it yet as I'm only on Koni's+MS springs, but I will need it one day soon.

Chris 08-21-2009 07:10 AM

I just use a race jack... a lowered 8 with ms sideskirts needs a race jack. it just fits under to the lift spots. perfect fit really. any lower and I would have to park on a 2x4 or somthing

rodjonathan 08-21-2009 08:48 AM

he said 3.5 off the ground dam thats pretty dam low!

dillsrotary 08-21-2009 09:01 AM

Nothing a couple planks of 4x2's can't fix, thats how we "coasted" mine with s-techs and MS front last year.

i'm lowered with ms skirts and my race jack doesnt fit. i have to roll it on 2x4s

TopGear8 08-21-2009 09:31 PM

^Yeah either using 2x4's works or jacking up the rear of the car, then putting a jack stand on the side of the car will get both side wheels off the ground.

atl8 08-21-2009 09:37 PM

I have a set of the 2pc 56" Race Ramps. With the Mazdaspeed front bumper and Racing Beat Spring (.5 inch dop) I can barely drive up on them without scraping. They did not fit when I had H-Techs (1" inch drop in front), and I would end up moving the Ramps backwards instead of driving up onto them.
