Tein S-Techs Installed...

5 Attachment(s)
Spent last night and this morning completing the job. It's by no means difficult, just time consuming. Ordered the springs from DPE (listed in this forum) on 24 May, and they were on my door step noonish 27 May. Cost $160 + FREE SHIPPING!!! Free thru the end of the month, too! Check them out! Cost of install was $25 for a spring compressor. Took longer than everyone else, due to an abundance of assistance from my 1-yr old. She got nice and dirty sticking her hand into the exhaust tip, for some reason. New ride is nice; not unusually noticeable until you hit some rough roads. Feel is more solid/firm. Love'n them 100%. Will get an alignment in a week or two after they fully settle. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

very nice, the more I see of this mod the more I want to do it myself.

Nice pictures too, looks like you have a future gearhead on your hands, enjoy.

it should settle a little bit lower within the next 2 weeks - month..

just to make sure, since i installed these springs as well, I am supposed to get an alignment for my 8 about 3 weeks after they are installed right?

MadDashRX8 05-29-2005 09:31 AM

I am under the understanding that you should wait to get the alignment. I am also thinking that after a week or two, I may loosen the upper control arm bolts in the front and drive it around the block again to eliminate any additional preload. Then retorque them and see about an alignment.

As far as what I think about them now... Dunno. Haven't had the oppurtunity to put any additional miles on them since the install and test drive. Will let you know. :D

I have the same springs. They are nice about 20-30% stiffer like advertized.

They will be a little more bumpy on tough roads. We have alot of road
construction going on down here. Driving home from work at night i notice
my headlights moving up and down alot! Tight!!

Ordered the springs from DPE They had free shipping until 1 Jun. I live inthe Panhandle, near Ft Walton Beach. 1.4" front, .7" r Actually turned out even front and rear. I didn't like the looks of some of the others that dropped the back the same amount as the front. They made it look like the car had 150 lbs of dog food in the trunk. I'm very happy with mine. :D
