StopTech BBK with OZ wheels

Hey guys, I'm currently installing a StopTech BBK, not done yet, still need to install and bleed the brake lines one both sides and get the right caliper and mount on.

I only put the left wheel on to make sure it would fit without spacers. But here is how the right side looks right now :)

Recieved!

Rotors and calipers on, although it all needs to be redone to get pads in and lines on.

18" OZ HLT Ultraleggera's, micrometers measures 2.49mm of clearance

Only problem now is how do I swap the lines... It's very stuck... :banghead:

Be sure to put a little extra Poligrip on your dentures, Don't want your teeth flying out when you hit the brakes hard.

LOL JK

haha probably should have though! Those calipers don't have pads in them nor are they hooked up :P I was just testing sizing with the OZ wheels without spacers.

I can't figure out how to install the stainless steel lines and I stripped one of the bolts on the right stock caliper bracket, so I'm off to the auto zone or ace hardware tomorrow.

But damn, they look GREAT. The size of these things are crazy. I must say I'm very pleased with how flawless the installation has been so far..

nice upgrade..I love mine..Stoptech makes 2 kits do you know what size you picked up?

I got the 328's 12.91"

I was so nervous about getting this size I honestly didn't think it would fit, but now I know that the 355's would have fit, darn.

None the less, no one needs that much stopping power or heat dispersion. lol. I really wanna paint it red though....... I can't really imagine any shops around here that would do that.. But I'll call around.

If you want to see some Ultraleggeras with 255 bbk on.... say no more!

California, do you have spacers? You look like you have way more clearance than I.

I wish i could afford some stuffs like that, but oem is just fine with me.

Stoptech has printable templates to check clearance. The smaller rotor are lighter.

A front BBK alone won't give more stopping power and in most cases will lengthen your stopping distance due to changing brake bias (despite what stoptech and every other bbk company claims).

The massive rotors due give you a lot more heat dispersion.

I like black calipers, red is way over done.

highway, I was looking more for pedal feel than anything else, my last DD had Brembo brakes and I loved feeling the sharp bite right away. Something that has lacked with the 8's OEM brakes. Thanks for the info, if I choose to get them painted I'll call them.

No offense but thats a lot of money to spend on a front BBK to improve the front pedal feel. I have used 5 different brake pad compounds, 3 different types of rotors and a BBK in both the front and rear BBK's and nothing has ever changed the brake pedal feel (height and firmness) except SS Lines and the brake booster brace (with MS Strut Bar).

The only thing that ever changed the Sharpness of the Pedal feel was brake pad compound.

Anyways, my opinion and experiance are not relivent. If you are happy with your purchase and the feel of the brakes with a front BBK, then that is all that really matters.

Even on the track with 275 hoosiers I have never experianced brake fade with the stock brake calipers running a race pad, Hi-temp fluid and 2-piece racing brake open slot rotors. The only reason I went to a BBK was to shave weight and with the addition of 100HP I wanted a little insurance. Better to have more brakes then find out you didnt have enough.

No spacer, the BBK has a built in offset so it works with the OEM 18 inch wheels.

I have these and there amazing. Awesome upgrade. Brake fade disappeared after I got these put on.

Highway, no denial on the priceyness... But along with pedal feel it did do it for stopping distance, fade, etc. Either way, new brakes were literally the last mod on my list way after a turbo setup, but within 2 days of me deciding I needed new rotors and pads, Works posted their sale... just couldn't miss it up since I knew I was going to buy them in the future...

And as you said, nothing matters but how happy I am with them, and my god I am quit happy.

Although I need to buy new SS lines :( fucked the right one up.
