I don't think they compete against Porsche, do they?. If they do, thats gay. A tube frame car (rx-8) against a unibody car (porsche) is no contest.

I see they do run together. Grand Am better have some good rules in place, otherwise their series will turn into a joke. I can't believe they're going to have ground up race cars competing against modified production cars.

I don't remember tube frame cars being in the series last year. Though I don't pay much attention to grand am, I think it's a pretty crappy series, for reasons like this.

well, its cheper to built a tube chasis that can be use for several cars than to develop a production base chasis, porche has a lot of years of development making it hard for others to get up to speed, frankly most people are tire of the porche parade

I think right now gram am is one of the best road race series in the world

You must not have seens ALMS or Speed World Challenge. The fact that a car company can't instantly jump into Grand Am and clean up all the Porsche's isn't a good reason, IMO, to allow them to build a road course Nascar to compete.

I'd be more impressed to see the Renesis engine in a real 'race car'.

imagine your mazda and to be competitive in gram am you have to develop a car for 10 years and at a very hi price, porche has been in continue development none stop for 30 years with the 911.

I ask you the same question dit you see alms and gram am because boht chage the rules in gt and gt2?

can alms live with 3 to 4 cars in a class?

your right about speed world challenge they have great racing, but what works for one racing series is not necesarily what works for another.

then why porche doest develop a tube frame since corvette, mazda, infiniti, pontiac, and ford ( theres also rumor of a ferrari) are doing it?

whts up guys sorry i have taken so long to make a post. i havent stoped working since after the Grand Am test day at homestead.i will post some pics soon.but as for the speedsource Rx-8 and the goldin bros Rx-8 both cars are extremley fast and were posting really fast times.i belive the time were in the 1:20s range and the GTO and Porsches were just a tad bit faster.

But right from the get go sat morning as we unloaded the trailers all the guys from Team TRG GTO-R came over and checked out both goldin bros car and speedsource car. and rumor has it tht there affraid of the Rx-8s winning next year.but thts the info for now.oh one more thing for those of you tht saw the speedsource 8 mazdaspeed body. The Goldin Bros. 8 will also be running tht body in the 24 @ daytona on 06.

Check out the Star Mazda series. They are open wheel racers with Renesis engines.
