Sema Rx8

Hello gentlemen and ladies. This is our shop RX8 owned by one of our employees Erwin Jureidini. As I type this, its is currently at SEMA 2004 show. Seibon booth # 27607

Seibon makes carbon fiber parts however the only part on this RX8 is their hood which is like a Knight Sports style. Supposedly they have 4 different hoods for RX8, One OEM, and 3 vented styles.

Current sponsors w/ mods:

Seibon
Wholesale Hyperformance
Pro Motion Distributing
Falken Tires 245/35/19 & 275/30/19
Unorthodox Racing - pulley kit
KBD Urethane- MS style front bumper polyurethene
NX Nitrous - Nitrous kit
DPE forged wheels -2pc. - 19x8 front & 19x10 rear
APEXi - True dual exhaust - prototype test fitted. Intake did not fit US spec cars
Sprint Springs
Kreative Auto Interior
JRX Rotary Specialists
Trumold - carbon fiber engine cover
Artiphats Graphics & Dezines

Partial Sponsors
Rotory Extreme Mazdaspeed TypeII replica rear wing w/ carbon fiber deck, Special thanks to Chuck Huang!

More mods not sponsored:
K&N intake
Project Mu brake pads
Takata harnesses
Bride Ergo Sport seats

Honorable mention:
Henry @ Import Trenz
Jin @ J&S Xtreme Autobody
Matt Williams @ Rx8Garage@sbcreative.com

I will be posting more pics of this vehicle, some will be early stage modifications. We hope to perform more modifications as more and exciting products become available for RX8's.

Please enjoy!

Carbon Fiber parts

Carbon fiber engine cover and Carbon fiber rear bumper spats. Both are OEM replacement, no modifications required. Just swap the parts

Nice pics! Can you get a close up shot of that rear wing? Also, does the company that made the wing make it in carbon/kevlar Red to match my hood, look at my profile you'll see the pics there. Thanks.

backwards graphics are one of the trends to come form Japan, all the JDM drifter types are doing it (like the pro teams, not just average folks). That's a very well done blend of accessories etc. and such, I like how you guys kinda' "hid" the graphics, I wonder when someone will ghost flame their 8 ? or ghost checkerboard/rotary symbol/whatever ?

A Little Too Ricey

The car looks good in many ways except for all the stickers on the car. The ricey look is better left to the Hondas IMHO. Also, it appears as though you plan to leave the hood black? This makes the car look like it's been in an accident and hasn't gotten repaired yet.

P.S. How much weight does a carbon fiber engine cover save?

For daily driving we agree we rather not have all these graphics, but hey its SEMA show, this is what you need to do to stand out and get attention. I will post more pics, the main graphic is an entire layout of the Reneisis RX8 motor!! :D

The Hood IMO is NOT lighter than stock however we did not weigh it; just by holding it, it seems a tad heavier than stock. By removing the rain gutters (underneath) on the Seibon hood it lightened it up a little bit more.

The only plus with these kind of aftermarket hoods (Seibon, VIS, TC, etc..) is mainly cosmetic use, or /and if you plan to modify your car w/ forced induction or other mod's where needing outlets for heat to escape is a big factor for the user, or you are using the car on track and dont want to chip up your stock sheet metal. From what i see 95% of people buying CF hoods is for cosmetic use or show use. With new technology in composites and metals, many new cars these days have already lightweight parts. Most CF hoods on these newer cars are not much of any weight savings, they just look cool. Just my realistic honest opinion.

The carbon fiber engine cover is lighter than the stock part. Again we did not weigh this for comparison, but it is definitely lighter. I highly doubt (since i have not tested nor own this particular car) will not feel any gain or performance value however. This again is just a cosmetic "cool" mod.

The MS wing does not come in optional colored carbon fiber weave . This wing is a replica part as the original part is fiberglass or plastic (not sure) painted deck and quite expensive. I will post more pics.

(BTW - you can candy coat paint carbon fiber parts, usually the "lowrider" type paint shops can accomplish this to give it the color tint you want, however if they mess up once, your part is messed up. People were doing this before companies started supplying the colored CF weaves. )

The wheels do not rub. There are guys running 20". I know one of the Jada Toys cars (owned by their marketing director- Armando) was running a very aggressive staggered HRE set up in 20"s. I know he sold these wheels since however his car is at SEMA also. Again bragging rights and cosmetic look is all u achieve this massive.

Please contact Matt at RX8garage.net as he can provide you with any product info or if u need to buy parts.

Hey I'll be there tomorrow, I'd like to meet and talk with you. How and where can I find you? I was there this morning for about 3 hours, but spent all my time in the wheels and tires section....I'd like to get to where you're at.

PM me a number I can reach you at maybe?

So they have three different vented hoods for the RX8?

Does SEIBON have a website?
