Nice pics... more info on the buggy set up?

monchie 03-23-2011 10:14 PM

It looks like photoshop on the wood bridge. Glad it handled the weight of the car.

Aipex8 03-23-2011 10:17 PM

Very nice. Any more shots of the 2 and Cosmo?

Polak Graphics 03-23-2011 10:25 PM

Very nice collection. I also want to see more of the cosmo's

Polak Graphics 03-23-2011 10:28 PM

Wow NZealanders know how to do rotaries right.

Thanks to NZ for the pfc datalogit that revolutionized ecu tuning for rotaries.

x2, + pics of the Rx2 please

The Rotabug is a full frame VW chassis, running a IRS rear end and type 3 gearbox/LSD diff out of a racecar.
Engine is a 13b 6port and is standard apart from Dellorto 48mm sidedraft, my own modified distributorless ignition system and open exhaust.
Buggy is fully road registered and never goes on the beach.
The buggy also has 4 wheel disc brakes and Wilwood 4 pot calipers on each corner.
I still have a lot of things I would like to do to this buggy eg full roll cage, new engine-(PP next time), new windscreen, and a better exhaust.

The photo of the my RX8 on the wooden bridge thing, is actually on a working platform, and could easily hold up a tank.

As for more photos of the Cosmo, unfortunately I don't have any at the moment.
The Cosmo has been in our family for about 15 plus years and is a standard 20b triple rotor model. It is the upmarket model with leather and Navigation system.
It was originally bought by my Father and then sold to my Father in law.
A great car for touring long distance, as long as you don't mind the fuel bill.

The RX2 was the first car that I bought back in 1982 and I sold it just over a year ago.
When I bought it it was a standard 1975 RX2 coupe 12A single dissy.
Over the years I think I modified just about everything on it, apart from the paint colour/stripe design.
When I sold it, it had a 13b tallport engine, 5speed, coilover suspension alround, Bilstein front shocks and Koni rear shocks, 4 wheel disc brakes and Wilwood 4 pot brakes on the front and 82 RX7 disc brake rear end, plus LSD and 4.1 ratio.
For an RX2 it handled great and stopped really well, I used the car for doing street sprints and hillclimbs.
I wish I hadn't sold it, but I didn't have enough spare room to store the car and someone paid me enough money to make it worth selling.
It also had my own distributorless ignition system and 3 barrel IDA Weber carb.
Anyway I hope this is the sort of info you were after.

(Where can can i buy the rotowatch rotoman? Thanks)

You could try Mazda parts department, the original part numbers are on the box in the photos.
Or you could have a look on Trade Me, I saw one on there under watches a couple of days ago. I just checked, the listing has finished, but here is the listing number - Listing #: 362775889
If this is the type you are after, ask them to relist it.
Hope this helps
