gamespot.com has some new footage of NFS: U2 and the rx8 appears a couple times...it can be seen a lot in the developer interview (its the red one)

The game starts out:
"After learning how your character ends up in Bayview, the city in which NFSU2 takes place, you receive a message from a fox named Rachel. Through her Cingular messages, you're told to deliver her RX-8 to a garage in the city core. The map system makes it relatively easy for you to find your destination, but for those who have a hard time traversing their way through the city, a GPS using directional arrows is available. Along the way there are other drivers ready to challenge you for money and information. Learning the numerous shortcuts in each section is imperative to making your way though career mode (it doesn't hurt in races either, duh). After making your way to the garage, you give Rachel her RX-8 and are given a clunker to use are your starter. "-gamespy

That's cool, the RX-8 has a starring role in the game! And Rachel is played by real life babe Brooke Burke! Can't wait for this one.
