New video on www.rx-8.mazda.co.jp
There is a new streaming video on
http://www.rx-8.mazda.co.jp/gallery/movie.html called "MOVIE in Australia" http://www.rx-8.mazda.co.jp/gallery/...vie_photo6.jpg Could anybody save the ADSL streaming video? I can't get a good connection... Best regards Stefan Janssen |
Decent video -- cheesy song of course (My Wish Comes True ...)
Get to see what RX looks like with a license plate on the front -- not as bad as I thought it might given the placement -- sure hope this isn't a preview of what the commericals will be like. |
damn, that song IS cheesy!... i think it ruined the video.
the first shot of it on the left side of the road surprised me a bit. then i realized it was being shot in australia. |
WTF?
I agree that the music is the worst commercial music I have ever heard, especially for this car. It sounds like a jingle for "New Generation" TAB soda from the 80's... which I don't know if ever existed. But it is bad:confused: I have my own ideas for commercials that would go as promo ads on cd-roms much like the preview cd Mazda released last year. I just need Mazda to return my phone calls for a demo 'white' RX-8

*sings* o o my wish comes true!

now where did this pic come from and is there more/larger ones? http://www.rx8forum.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=31655 |
I believe these are excerpts from the Japanese promotional tape, though I haven't seen it available in the states:

My apologies to our Aussie members, but THAT MUSIC IS SO LAME! IMHO, it doesn't invoke any driving excitement, which is what this car is all about! Kinda reminds me of those Menthos commercials ;)
This is another good opportunity to shamelessly promote my choice for RX-8 commercial music :) Check out this link to listen to a clip that gives me goosebumps when I listin to it and fantasize about my first RX-8 'test drive'. http://home.satx.rr.com/rx8uberalles Why a German name, you ask? BTSOM, maybe to get in a dig at the German automakers (even though I've got a lotta German in my blood, my DNA is programmed for Japanese rotaries). |
Considering that is Peter Gabriel, that isn't bad! Although it has absolutely nothing to do with the RX-8 or even driving for that matter.
|
The music sounded like the theme song on every Anime movie/series I've ever seen. I don't care if it WAS Peter Gabriel, that was awful.
Even though the music didn't fit with the car, the video itself was pretty neat to see. |
Where DID this pic come from??
|
I've got the pic from the japanes RX-8 newsletter, I receive every four weeks or so.
It includes some (japanese) informations, links to already known pages and a few small pics the one from the black car. Here is another one: |
Don't bag out Australia, OK!
Just remember that you yanks owe us a hell of a lot. http://ilovedeniro.homestead.com/files/aussie.gif |

But definitely not in the Aussie Commerical. Should have went with "Zoom Zoom Zoom" as the background music for that one. |
Zoom Zoom
The 'Zoom' campaign was voted one of the worst ads in the UK during 2002 by the ad industry. It is supremely annoying so I agree. You have to cringe when the CEO of Mazda USA starts a press launch with the statement: "Hi I'm from Mazda, the company that brought you Zoom Zoom..." Yuk!
