new rotary engine animations
Check out some new computer animations of a rotary engine. The rotor is modeled from a 13B, and exhaust ports are on the side housings to reflect the Renesis.
visit http://www.nomicos.com Note the first avi is large (5.5Meg), but it runs for 49 seconds. There are also shorter clips (500K) blown up to 640x480 resolution. Send feedback! |
Very nice! Thanks for sharing it with us. :)

those are great! any way i could use the short rotor one or the mazdaglobe loge for my avatar?
|
zoom44,
go for it! drop me an e-mail (p5turbo@yahoo.com) if there's a specific frame that you want to use. I can send you a small bitmap or jpeg image, it will be better quality than trying to take a screenshot from one of the animations. |
Good find BTW p5turbo what program are you going to use to make the vid into a gif
|
Excellent find!

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far
ShortBusRiot, -> Rather than converting the video files to gifs, I use Adobe ImageReady to create animated gifs directly from my original images. If you don't have ImageReady, you can create gifs from images using IrfanView (www.irfanview.com), and create animated gifs using Unfreez (www.whitsoftdev.com/unfreez), both of which are freeware. IrfanView and Unfreez work really well, but Adobe gives you more flexibility to tinker with compression (at the expense of lossiness in the image). -> I was able to get the spinning mazda logo down to less than 6K and keep it somewhat reasonable. ZoomZoom, -> Thanks! It was a fun project. |
p5turbo, could I also use a segment for my avatar?
Thanks and great work. |
maikeru,
Absolutely! I hadn't checked the thread for a while and just noticed your post. Anyway, send me an e-mail (p5turbo@yahoo.com) and let me know what segment you want to use. I'll have to work with it to get it down to 6K for you. |
Those are awesome! But on the timming you forgot that the leading plugs fire at the same time. Go onto rotaryengineillistrated.com and download their timming animation you'll see what I mean.

rototlewski,
Glad you liked them! Thanks also for the input. I am aware that the leading plugs fired together on the original engines. My understanding is that Mazda changed this, though, and I assume that the change will survive in the Renesis. If anyone has more affirmative information on this I'd appreciate it. |
