I wonder how much of the suspension and underside of the car is damage. Surely his exhaust system is done for.

I was thinking the same thing. Exhuast is hot, control arms probably took a bit of a beating, and possibly even those discs are damaged.

On a side note:
It learns to torque the lug nuts or it gets the hose!

I'm just glad the car's ok!

He's lucky that happened right off the line and not after he had some speed built up... God, can you imagine how tragic it would have been if that happened during a hard turn?

makes perfect sense. the older enkei wheels required special lug nuts that had to be purchased from enkei to properly hold the wheels, as the hole where the lug goes is only so deep at a larger diameter, and then narrows down to maybe 1/8 of an inch or so larger than the actual stud.

that was the cleanest r2(95=ultra rare) out there! the ONLY thing wrong with the car WAS some rock chips on the left front quarter and the fading wing. fritz is an awesome auto guy and solid driver. the wheels came off due to being sold the wrong size by accident. a 1/2-20 will screw down on the 12x125 stud and tourqe even sometimes however it WILL NOT handle driving force loads as seen. That is exactly what happened to him. the damage now is two front fenders and some adjustment to the rear quarters at a competent body shop. bummer!

*oops* oh well too late but it suck for him... at least it wasnt worse huh?:Eyecrazy:
