New Carbon Fiber Hood AIT?
7 Attachment(s)
Just bought this hood off of Craigslist for $250, the fitment is not perfect, the rear of the hood hits the fender when opening or closing, I tried to fiddle with it, had no luck - so I'll take it to a body shop, to get it re-adjusted as well as a new clearcoat.
But I just snapped these real quick. Thanks fellas :) Attachment 252599 Attachment 252600 Attachment 252601 Attachment 252602 Attachment 252603 Is this a carbon fiber overlay? It is not carbon fiber underneath the hood? Attachment 252604 Attachment 252605 |
Looks cool man. And not bad for the price.
not bad, but i usually only like to see some carbon on decently-modded cars.
this is the hood i almost went with but decided to get seibon. I just wasnt sure about fitment and had no refernce from anyone. On another note yes it is real carbon fiber on top. companies use fiberglass and plastic materials on the back and membrain to cut cost to the end buyer. even the seibon and vis is this way unless the dry carbon version is different. looks good i just dont think it fit my car as good.

Looks out of place but functional
looks super aggressive, i like it. time to lower your car.
That's the price new?... where can I found one of those? I try with some of the vendor and other pages but no luck
I would highly suggest investing in a clearbra application for your hood otherwise every couple of years you will be needing to have the clear coat re-applied. Many hood companies will not honor any warranty for hoods in Arizona. I've had my Seibon TS2 hood on my RX8 for over 3 years with 3m clearbra on it and it looks just as good as the first day I bought it.
The cost can vary but around $300 is to be expected. It will also help prevent or contain cracks as well as any obvious rock hits. |
looks good now drop the car it needs it
I like the hood.
GL w/the fitment. |
one of those black carbon front lip spoilers might go with it quite nicely

That hood is way too aggressive for a car that has stock wheels and stock body parts...
very agressive.
any plans to mod the rest of the car? As is, it seems a bit out of place to me |
not really feeling it
looks good for the price and a drop is in order
now u need a front bumper and sides
not bad for its price! get it paint sunsilver light like the rest of the car ;)
How much does it weigh?
Not too sure of how much it weighs, and this hood new is around 800 for whoever was asking. It was too good of a deal not to pick it up, I'd be able to sell it for 400 easily. I don't have any plans in the near future, I'm getting stationed in Korea, so I'll be gone for awhile.
Soon as I get back, i'm going with the mazdaspeed kit, some new wheels, and a drop. The only reason it sits like that right now, is because I will be giving it to my father while I'm in Korea, so I dont want to modify it too much right now. |
WAYYYYYY to agressive. this belongs on a roush mustang.
