Haha just delete the pics, delete everything you said, get new wheels, then make a new name and you'll be fine.

ChattyRX8 02-18-2008 12:38 AM

Ummm... I really have no comment on this thread except to say that you should be running all trailing plugs, with shims in the leading positions.
And CAI does help on a turbo. Instead of sucking in all that hot engine compartment air, a CAI will be sucking in air that is at least
50* colder.
And I don't care what the guy says that you order parts from, you're not getting 347whp. I doubt a GReddy kit can do 347whp even with all the other upgrades. You'll need AT LEAST the MazdaManiac turbo delete or a Mazsport kit.

Why havent i seen any 8's with rear mount turbo? Idk, might be a noob question, but isnt it better for the turbo since its cooler back their? (no engine heat)

Doubt that would work, he'd have to a get a whole new car altogether. I'm sure we will remember this car...:icon_no2:

dude, read a round a bit.. not all turbos are in above the motor..

most are mounted on the exhaust header.

its a 6 speed dude, hence the pic and u guys dont like the rims, they are 19 in Konig trouble, maybe it is the pic heres some other ones

UFGator12 02-18-2008 10:50 AM

did you just buy this car and then some used car salesman told you that you were going to get 347 hp to the wheels? those are all at the dealer pictures which is why i am thinking that. just go get it dyno'd and make sure you have your numbers right before you come on here and tell them to everyone. people here know their stuff and if you're wrong, they are definitely going to call you out on it.

Ever Hernandez 02-18-2008 10:57 AM

Still not feeling the wheels, sorry. When you get a chance post a scan of your dyno results.

Even then, that will be tough. 347whp is not a cheap or easy thing to do, yet alone gonna happen with a max of 8psi.

mysql101 02-18-2008 12:02 PM

I think it'll be easy. I just need to raise the boost level on my boost controller.

Unfortunately for the OP, even if you raise the greddy's boost, you aren't going to be going over 300. Most never see 290.

Nightfox 02-18-2008 01:15 PM

no these arnt the dealer pics, these are all pics i took and ya im gonna get it to the dyno this weekend and ill post the results

RX8 6 speed with Greddy turbo @ 5PSI
Guess the dyno result competition:

1/ Brettus : 245whp

MazdaManiac 02-18-2008 03:10 PM

1/ Brettus : 245whp
2/ MM : 230whp;155tq

Bastage 02-18-2008 03:14 PM

1/ Brettus : 245whp
2/ MM : 230whp;155tq
3/ Bastage: 247whp

mysql101 02-18-2008 03:15 PM

Oh, I've seen how this works on the price is right. If I was the last person to guess the price, I'd underbid by one.

I say 229 whp.

eviltwinkie 02-18-2008 03:24 PM

1/ Brettus : 245whp
2/ MM : 230whp;155tq
3/ Bastage: 247whp
4/ mysql101: 229whp
5/ ME: 229.99whp...

Cattywampus 02-18-2008 03:34 PM

Dig in the playground box a little guys. The average numbers for the kit that have not been tuned and are the base kit is 230whp with 160tq. When mysql originally had his he was running those numbers. The guy hasnt mentioned anything other than a turbo, no int-x or any other engine managements. What do we win.

mysql101 02-18-2008 03:36 PM

I did around 255 with the stock int-x map. I suspect there was around a 20 whp gain over the emu (which wasn't dyno tuned), so 230 - 240 sounds about right. But each car is different.
