My "older" but new toy

AJ, Mad Kidd you are both correct.
Say hello to my new 91 MK3 7M-GTE!! 157K original miles ONE owner. Delivery will be next month. Finally I can park the 8 and seriously start modding her way I want. Oh and don't even say it, the wheels GOTTA go, and a spoiler will be added. I had an 89. My son has it now. I bought the 8 because it handled like my supra did. Now she'll be for show. Don't hate on the AT part, I know better, but she's for running around town ,and to keep the miles down on the 8. I'm already sitting at 30K. Guys did ya'll see it's also has the TEMS?

7M-GTE made about 230 if I remember correctly.
The cool part is the 1JZ-GTE will fit in there as well. Although illegal here in California, most states allow for the swap to be road legal.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I'm looking forward to getting behind the wheel of this even thoug hit is an AT.. With the turbo I believe it has 220hp. I know a standard 7M-GE has 200 hp. 'Course I 'intend' on keeping my foot out of it, but I know I'll break her in. It has new head gaskets, which Supra's are notorious for blowing at about that mileage, owned by a woman, has been newly tuned, has new brakes and rotors...The list goes on and on.
For those interested,
The TEMS or Toyota Electronic Modulated Suspension, is the best part because you can turn it on or off. It automatically changes the shock absorber valving to firm up the suspension to suit road conditions and driving style. The system incorporates a switch mounted on the centre console which allows the driver to select SPORT mode or NORMAL mode. With the mode select in NORMAL, the suspension will maintain a smooth, soft ride during normal driving conditions until the system's computer detects harsh or abnormal cornering, hard braking, rapid acceleration or high speed. This computer is programmable, anything linked to the computer can be changed to your requirements. When detected the computer adjusts the suspension for a much firmer response from the shock absorbers. The only drawback is the fact is does NOT have DSG....so I will have to be a bit more careful in the twisties... but I can live with that.
Now I will have the best of both worlds. My show baby, that I can get out and have fun with when I want, and a regular toy to actually be able to enjoy in the mean time...It is the closest thing that Toyota ever came up with to compete with the FC, and FD and it is very very close to having the capabilities that the 8 does. It also runs on 89 octane and is FI.

I love the Supra 3rd gen Supras. They were one of the best touring cars of the 80's. I am a huge Toyota fan and the 7M was one of the best straight 6's ever. Their only problem was the change of material used on the head gaskets created problems there. But with a new gasket properly installed, they will outlast most other engines.
The only draw back was the weight, At almost 1000lbs heavier than an FC they were not meant to be a true performance car.
