dam, what model is that? Who needs all them gauges.

BlueRenesis82 05-02-2006 11:04 PM

all what gauges? all hes got is the meter

BigOLundh 05-02-2006 11:04 PM

I think the actual analog gauges are easier to spot than the digital ones... just my opinion.

i do like where you placed the Link Controller... that seems really easy to access.

yea i know, i was making a comment that one wouldn't need to install a bunch of different gauges and that this is a practical substitute.

nez 05-03-2006 01:50 AM

thats awesome, but i do still like the gauges more. they match the cars gauges and look wicked at night

Moostafa29 05-03-2006 07:38 AM

Thats pretty cool. I have mine installed in the same location, except for left hand drive. I like the display unit, but I wouldn't want to have to switch through different screens. I like having the BF analog gauges so I can look at multiple things at the same time.

Alex_ 05-03-2006 08:24 AM

With defi chain is possible use together digital (display) and analog (BF) meter.

r0tor 05-03-2006 12:14 PM

I was going to do this awhile ago but mount the display in the ashtray area since its completely pointless to have a bizillion guages stairing yo in the face constantly (IMO anyway)

... i didn't get a whole lot of help though with a few vendors trying to buy the DEfi sensors without getting the analog guages... then i just lost interest

yeah the defi BF ones that black out would look tight as hell i have them in my FD and they are really really nice, they match the rx8s interior perfect so when i go boost i'll get a set for the 8, too bad the average set of 3 costs around 800 bux with a link meter 2.

Moostafa29 05-03-2006 09:28 PM

I got all mine for a pretty decent price on ebay.

StealthFox 05-04-2006 03:08 AM

nice, new stuff?

Paul_in_DC 05-04-2006 08:48 AM

Question: What did you do and/or where did you get the signals for speed and tachometer? From the PCM?

Alex_ 05-04-2006 09:02 AM

I do not know, I wait 2 hour in a autobacs shop and a little man work for money , sorry.

jmaluso 05-04-2006 09:11 AM

Is that 8 turboed? If not what is the need for spending all that money on gauges for an automatic?

jaii13 05-04-2006 09:15 AM

Alex, do you have the gauges installed as well? I was told that the Defi Link display doesnt work without them.

Gauges = analogic i.e. BF series? I have only defi display, please do not belive them, all you need are only the sensor control unit and a display of course

Yes ie. BF gauges. I thought as much, though the diagram on defi's website shows that the Defi Link display unit is connected to the sensors VIA the gauges, it should definitely be possible to bypass the gauges. Thanks for confirming that.
