Great video! Nice quality too.
Wow! You had a really clear run! Other 'ring videos I've seen have had heavy traffic. I love that stretch from 05:35 - 6:24.
So, is it true? Is the 'ring addictive? How much do you want to go back and run it again? and again? and again?

You can run 5 laps for 60 Euros, which doesn't sound like a lot, but on the Ring it is! A lot of the bikes have to change tires if they are running at full speed after just a couple laps.
Traffic is usually only a problem when someone goes off. The corner workers put out a local yellow, which tends to back everyone up. The queue at the start tries to space people out, so generally its not bad. The only traffic problems I encountered were getting back on the track after they closed it for a bad accident.
There are a bunch of great places to watch people lap, and even just on open lapping days, there are a lot of spectators. Driving there is definitely addictive, but you have to be careful. Its easy to get sucked in trying to keep up with someone. Other than that, everyone seemed to be a pretty good driver on the track, and all of the passing was respectful, and on the left.

Momentum Keeps Me Going
Excellent! Nice driving and video....I can see it would be easy to go a bit faster in a bunch of pleaces with repeat practice...but it's so long it would take a while to get the corners repeated enough to try. Can you 'buy' an instructor? I've found tracking with one is the absolute best learning tool there is...experience shared is priceless and your confidence on-track is way improved as you have someone right there with instant advice and pre-warnings!
You are so lucky ... I can only do this in GT4 Thanks for the great vicarious action!!!

Ok, having just tried that on Xbox's Forza motorsport and getting a 10:50 I have to amend that "nice driving" to excellent driving. But I do have to say the car seems a little underpowered in the game but the track is amazingly realisitc when compared side by side with the video.

in my rx-8 on PS2, with 560 HP, :D , i can go around in 7:25+, with a couple spins, and off course excursions. something about no fear, and a reset button.

I am probably the most jealous person on the planet right now. Thank you so much Kenndac for posting this and taking a chance on getting the video. For any of us track junkies here in the States, this is truly our Mecca. I've always said when I make my millions, I'm going to ship my car to Europe just to drive it on this track. Great driving!

And yes, the Nürburgring is addictive. I first drove it in April in my Vauxhall Astra (125bhp) and loved it, then went back with my new RX-8. Now, I'm hooked...
- For around Easter next year, I'm arranging a trip over there with a few friends. Currently we have my RX-8, a Porsche Boxster S, a BMW Z4, a Focus ST220 and an MR2 coming along. Can't wait.
- My Mum lives down in the South of France. Every time I drive down to visit her, I'll take a quick (2-day) detour through Germany to visit the ring.
- I've already vowed that I'm gonna take every new car I ever get around the ring.

nice video, and excellent quality. also, thanks for having a rhd and putting the camera on the left. it felt very natural (except the missing steering wheel, guages, etc.).
btw, what is the little doohickey you have on your dash (right side of the screen). it looks like a flat piece sticking up.

Wow a $2000 camera, your RX8, the car you just showed us on your blog and then the Boxster, the Z4 and those other cars!?
You must be raking in the money from your business--- and at only 20 years old! Did you work as a software engineer before or were you always into programming and webdesign?

It also has a radar/laser/etc detector attached to it. On my 8, it's installed down in the front spoiler, looking through the front rotary accent.

Software/programming is been something I've been into (I'm an extreme geek) since I was around 13-14. I released my first program before I started my Computer Science degree - many of my friends have commented that I'm at Uni to get a piece of paper to tell people I can do what I've been doing for years!
This year, I've taken a year out of my degree to work on my business full-time. Now I have an office and an employee (just the one), but I fully intend to return to Uni next year and finish my degree. I'm not chucking those 2 years of work down the drain!

This thread makes me feel bad, i live 3 hours from Nurnberg, and the time I went there I only went to the Zoo! I think I better plan a road trip before it gets too cold!
