Man that was quick! How did you get back and do that so fast?

What's with that monentary sky shot? Did you think the rotary airplane was coming? Hey, wait a minute, I'm in that video you shot! I'm behind the guy with the microphone in the white tee shirt :D

yea.. their neighbor is running an unencrypted wireless network. I just logged on.

the sky shot was to make sure the camera was still recording because my arm was getting really tired of holding it up. For those who think it's nothing special, every single person who could tape this, did. Why? because this is probably the last time you'll see this car on american shores.

I'm on a T1 and it took me 3 min.

It sounded awsome, but 3 min. of blipping the gas was more annoying than anything.

I know how special this car is and everything, but bliping the throttle repeatedly like that was annoying and boring.

If you think it sounds incredible listening to it via download, you should have heard it in person!

I do agree though, that probably everyone there had wished they had stopped blipping the throttle and just kept revving the sh*t out of it!

the reason they were blipping the throttle is because they were trying to keep the car running. For those who were there, it was pretty obvious when they ran Abel's drag car and the Mazda 6 drag car. Those cars they openned up. I have videos of abel's car well.. i have audio, because i couldnt see the car. There were too many people in the way. They lit that car up, but the 787b is not something they could just open up. They'd have to run it for an hour to get it warmed up.
The car still runs great, but it's not an engine they're going to put a whole lot of stress on. They did the exact same thing with the Du Mans cars. I wish they could've opened it up too, but we all knew they wouldn't. They didn't want to damage that engine.
That car will be crated and go back to japan, and we'll probably never see it here again. For me, knowing that, makes all of it worthwhile.

He had to do that of course to keep it running. Generally peripheral port=bad idle.

You did have to be there. It was our concern as the event organizer to keep folks away from the exhaust to a safe distance, and consequently I was holding people back at both Abel's and the 787B.

To give you some idea why it was important, and just how intense it was, the 787 was blowing 3 foot flames, bellowing toxic exhaust, and singed my leg hairs. Pretty cool nonetheless. There was a guy to the right of me video taping directly in front of the exhaust. He was a hard core fan, and seemed willing to set his hair on fire for an exclusive with the 787. At one point I looked up and realized there wasn’t anywhere to escape the exhaust, so I was glad when it was over.

Abel's car felt like someone punching you in the chest with every bounce off the limiter. Abel's car actually flipped the heavy Mazda carpets 10 feet away and sent little girls running and crying to their moms.

I agree, the blipping did get old, but once it warmed up the finale was pretty good.

*wavies*

Yeah, I stood in the same spot at Sevenstock 4 to be bathed in the fumes from the 787B. I didn't plug my ears that time, but had to a little on this one.

The fireballs were a nice touch!!

*grin*

Kariiiii,

Yup, I asked them if I could get it for you, and mail it to ya. They said, "nope just contact her in the forum and tell her she almost won" Sorry. Oh well, next year just tell them what happened and maybe they will give you an RX8 car toy

Hey we are both from RanchO >hahahah< just noticed that :D
