What kind of power was it that you were making more of at 2,500 than the stock engine makes at 8,000?

I guess. Good question.
I have the dyno sheet. Give me a minute... |

Spend about $3-4k on camera gear and prove you can take killer photos, that's how! I thought Jeff's words said it best when it came to certain aspects. Sure I could have spent time hammering out cuter or more clever phrases (though not by much since MM is pretty darn witty), but I felt that he nailed it, so I swiped it. Besides, magazine editors love quotes because it draws the readers into the story. If it was just me telling you about someone's car, would you really care?
Now if I were Angelina Jolie, and I were telling you about someone's car... lol i'm allergic to real work...screw that...heh good job yo... |

So at 3,500 you were making more than 325 lb./ft. of torque? That's pretty impressive! Glad to see it could be done.

I'm not sure - I think Ray calculated that number.
I'm trying to find the dyno from that day. I didn't keep the sheet since it sucked and AZMC changed WEB servers, so the thread from that day is jacked. Its around somewhere. I'll post it up so you guys can laugh at my misery. |

205 h.p. @ 3,500=roughly 310 lb./ft. torque. That's tree-stump-pulling for this car and damn good. I wonder what kind of boost is required to achieve those numbers?

That is actually a typo - he meant 3500 RPM. I was already at 205 HP by then.
Congrats on the magazine article btw, nice car |
Yeah, but that chart had power on it.
I think my phone is in my car. You should know by now - I do not answer my phone. I let my own mom go to voice mail! I only check it a few times a day. I am not the king of accessible. That's Ray's crown.

Thats amazing. My god. And honestly, that is how I want my BB to look except for the fender strakes. Nice nice
My only surprise is why you kept the flywheel/clutch stock? |

The few aftermarket clutches I've felt on the '8 are way too stiff and engage way too low. The MS flywheel made no difference to my recollection and the Fidenza made the car very prone to stalling but not particularly more responsive. |
I've only been in the one Fidenza-ed car and it would idle off when you released the clutch to neutral after a high RPM run.
Always had to dip it to keep it running. More importantly, it didn't seem to add any throttle response. I don't know what I'm going to do when I exceed the OE clutch capability. Probably one of the higher power Exedy clutches since they make the OE unit. Its the pressure plate that worries me. I love the stock pedal feel. |

I can tell ya two things you'll probably install when you replace the clutch; my new support bracket and pushrod. I should have a working proto of the bracket some time this coming week or next. I have new guys working on it and they have my fullest confidence. Not like the last shop who sat on it the whole time.
What does "dip it" mean? By "dip it", I mean letting the clutch back in as the car is coasting down to allow the drive train to restart the motor (via "engine braking"). |
congrats. i would have like to see lazi's OLD car in the mag. i think even though its not turbo'd its got a very heavy mod list of Jdm parts. and just looks like a car you would see when flipping through that mag.
Im soo jealous MM :) |
